Giuliani Tests Presidential Waters With New Hampshire Visit

GREENLAND, NH (CBS) – Rudy Giuliani is testing the waters to see if he wants to run for President, again.

Giuliani, who visited the Country View Restaurant in Greenland, NH Friday, says he’s learned some lessons from the last lackluster campaign. “I’d spend a lot more time in New Hampshire.”

He explains, “We were so busy building a national campagin and raising 50 or 60 million dollars that we didn’t give each of the primary states enough attention.

We were running a national campaign when we should have been doing is running a local campaign. Alot of candidates make that mistake, we made it, and then we paid for it. And it was fair.”

What would it take for him to run again? “I don’t know,” he responds. His thoughts are: A feeling you would make a difference, feeling you have a decent chance of winning, and thinking you were needed for the debate. “Alot that arises from analyzing yourself and the field.”

What does he think of the potential field? It’s still too early, he says.

But he didn’t pass at the chance to take aim at New Hampshire G.O.P. frontrunner Mitt Romney and his Massachusetts health care reform? “I like Mitt very much, I think Mitt is a terrific guy.

I have a great deal of respect for him. I think that was a big mistake. It’s clearly a mistake. It was a forerunner of Obama care. Same idea, the core thing was a mandate. A mandate to me was a big mistake.” Giuliani goes on, “To tell me I have to do something, and then tax me if I don’t do it seems to me a violation of the constitution.

My biggest fear is the 8 or 9 people standing on the stage at the Iowa Republican debate will pretty much look like the same cast of characters (minus Fred Thompson) as the 2008 Iowa debate.

I think Rudy has a friendship with Sarah and could run interference for Sarah by taking votes away from mittsy. Rudy is a no nonsense guy and could be a good running mate for Sarah-at least Rudy seems to be accepted by the elites. If he doesn’t run I think he would back and campaign for Sarah. Don’t put Rudy under the bus just yet.

I became permanently anti-Rudy after I learned that as mayor of New York, he used to remains of 911 victims to fill potholes in the streets of New York.

That's a pretty serious allegation I hadn't seen. NY Daily News discusses a related lawsuit and names a whistleblower.

I don't expect many fresh faces on the field.

my form answer to all things RUDY:

I LIKE Rudy...he was the best thing for NYC that came along in around 50 years....

....but he is NOT, repeat NOT presidential timber. His methods are fascist and anti-individual. NYC at the time, I suppose, needed a fascist....and seeing as how the dims had made NYC a cross between Marxism and Fascism already, it was no great shakes to have him clean the city in his own inimitable style.

He is not right for America....period. Let him run for either Putzhead Schumer's or Shrillarie's(now gillibrand's) seat in the Senate...he can only improve the senate in comparison to those two pear-shaped losers.....

I will not vote for Rudy for either president or NY governor...period...and I will do what I can against him in either of those endeavors.
