Deputy Attorney General in the Johnson administration, Deputy Secretary of State in the Carter administration, Secretary of State for Bill Clinton. He had the misfortune to serve under our worst Presidents!

R.I.P.

RIP.

I feel compelled to point out that he’ll never make a list of great American diplomats, though.

I think he’ll be remembered for the quote that genocide is a problem from hell.

Warren Christopher was present when Jimmy Carter decided to use Colonel Charlie Beckwith’s Delta Force in an attempt to rescue American hostages held in the U.S. Embassy in Tehran by armed “students.” According to the Los Angeles Times: “. . . Beckwith. . . informed Carter's point man, Warren Christopher, that in the rescue effort ‘anyone who is holding a hostage, we intend to shoot him, and shoot him right between the eyes. We intend to shoot him twice.’ Christopher was stunned, according to Beckwith. ‘Would you consider shooting them in the leg, or in the ankle or the shoulder?’

Met Christopher when I was in Ha Noi..he was a nice guy..he was pleasant and kind. Never asked for anything like McCain or Kerry.

His suit was impressive..

Thanks for visiting us in Hanoi.

When Colonel Beckwith of Delta Force gave his briefing at the White House about the raid/rescue of American in Tehran, Warren Christopher asked if the commandos could only just shoot Revolutionary Guards in the shoulders and not kill them. Supposedly Colonel Beckwith, stopped his presentation for a moment and gave the little twirp a WTF? look, didn’t answer and kept going with his presentation.

That’s got to be a painful way to die. Usually when you get kidney cancer, it spreads into the bladder.

Wonder if he was a smoker, since that’s a major cause of this condition.

Warren Christopher also listened to one of his underlings, the odious Martin Halperin and denied Rangers the use of Armor and Gunships to rescue those trapped in Mogadishu under the Clinton administration. Halperin’s reasoning was that the presence of such violent implements of destruction would upset the locals.

Several friends of mine at State described Christopher as Jiminy Cricket’s evil, stupid twin brother.

Jack.

I never knew the inside on that screw-up but I remember it was the excuse Clinton was looking for to can Les Aspin who was about to cause an insurrection in all the branches of the military.

“the odious Mark Halperin”

I copy that...his father stinks even more if that’s possible...and he once had full control of national security policies along with highly classified secrets...
