Likely Libya Attack Strategy - Cruise Missiles, Then Bombing
Times of Malta ^ | March 19, 2011 | AFP

Posted on 03/19/2011 7:36:20 AM PDT by Strategy

Action to stop Libyan forces bombing rebels could start with a cruise missile strike to neutralise air defences, close-up bombing of runways and then patrols to enforce a no-fly zone, experts say.

Any U.S. citizen, civilian or military, who kills a Libyan, should be charged with first degree murder.

Seriously? And does the reverse apply - any Libyan citizen who kills an American should be charged with first degree murder? And if that's the case, do we bother to inforce it against the person who ordered the Lockerbie bombing?

Do you consider it murder when good men do nothing to prevent the murder of someone else? Does your Pat Buchanan isolationism comfort you at night knowing that people screaming out for liberty are being slaughtered at the hands of Libyan pilots flying Soviet jets, all while you sit back and judge those siding with the most defenseless among us as 'murderers'? Wow.

Whatever...they were protesting which is every person’s God given right. And the qwhacko did steal their country and then proseded to bomb a huge airliner and murder many American citizens. I am thankful that he will, please God be taken out. I will take a chance with brave people who are willing to fight for their country over a two bit dictator who is willing to wholesale murder his people.

Explain to me why these men are in Leavenworth prison.

They were convicted of murder for killing suspected enemy combatants. Do they represent the overwhelming majority of American soldiers who killed suspected enemy combatants? Obviously not since they sit in prison while the others roam free. So by your statement, you are saying that the rest should be in prison as well. Nice.

Now that I have answered your question, maybe you would have the courtesy of going back and answer the ones that were asked prior to yours.

I understand what you’re saying, but to come out and tell the world that you will not use our planes against Libya is showing your hand to a dictator. He should have kept silent on this feature and left the door open. Now, if he does use our planes, it makes him look weak and under control of someone else.

That line right there is pure, unadulterated liberalism.

Is there any kumbaya, liberal nonsense you won't sign on for as long as it's wrapped in a military uniform?

Really? Which part?

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

I think the internal political situation in France has much to do with Sarkozy’s stance:

I just worked with a soldier who recently returned from his second tour of duty in Afghanistan. His first tour of duty was while Bush was in office, his second was under O’Bummer.

He is a basket case as he said the rules of engagement have changed so much that he can’t protect his men. He said that his first tour was in offensive mode and they lost very few men. His second tour of duty under O’Bummer was in defensive mode and the losses were high. They were not allowed to shoot back when shot at. They were not allowed to fly the American Flag as they were told it offended the local people. It’s not a war, its a cluster ........

The worst was one of his men was being brought up on charges for wrongfully killing an insurgent. Needless to say, he came back for psych treatment as he said it is impossible to protect your guys under the current rules of engagement. The hatred for our Pres. among the current active duty troops is very high. It’s no wonder that good soldiers are leaving the military.

Could very well be.

Personally, I'd rather the ragheads kill themselves off, because no matter what, “the west” will get blamed one way or another.

I have no love for France or the French; quite honestly they're useless to me. But for them to die for any raghead is wrong.

We should lend moral support to the air war and nothing else. The Euros are more than capable of taking care of this on their own. We could send in SpecOps teams to train the rebels. Our assets ought to be focused on Bahrain. There is an Iranian/Shia proxy war going on there. We need to help the Sauidis to put it down HARD.

Bahrain is the anchor for the Navy in the Persian Gulf. It’s a National Security asset to protect.

Well, it’s not like they can move their military airfields etc. It’s true that early warning allows them to evacuate their aircraft, but for all we know, this is part of the plan to put assets into the air that the Frogs can shoot down.
