Clinton: Fears of Libyan `unspeakable atrocities'

PARIS (AP) -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Saturday that the U.S. will bring "unique capabilities to bear" in Libya as a global coalition began enforcing a U.N.-authorized no-fly zone to protect civilians from Moammar Gadhafi's forces.

The world will not "sit idly by," she said at a news conference, amid fears that Gadhafi will commit "unspeakable atrocities" against his people.

Exactly. Tons of "unspeakable atrocities" have occurred in the last 30 years, including during Bubba's watch.

We have been very selective in our duty to intervene.

“The world will not “sit idly by”

Oh, but you all were so happy to “sit idly by,” while thousands of freedom-loving Iranians were butchered at the hands of Khamenei and Ahmadinejad.

WHERE IS THE JUSTICE? WHERE IS THE CONSISTENCY?

UGHHHHHHHHHH! The fact that everyone has to go after Libya, but not lift a finger about Iran really ticks me off!

Its already been added to the Kearsarge wiki page that they are carrying 42 helicopters and 400 Marines off the Libyan coast for “humanitarian” reasons.

These are the same people who stood idly by while 1 million Rwandans were slaughtered.

But Libya has oil, that’s the difference.

So now we declare war on, and attack, a country because of what we "fear" "might" happen? We don't even know who is on the side we are supporting nor do we know which side is supported by the majority of the Libyan people. We say we are enforcing a "no fly zone", but we attack before there has been any attempt to fly in the zone. We say we are protecting "civilians", but we have joined in on the side of armed, muslim radicals who attacked first.

There hasn't been one opportunity to make a mistake that Obama hasn't taken, and it is always at great cost to the American people.

If Daffy had nukes they’d probably let him have a seat on the Security Council and treat him with deference

Hillary, attrocities? You wait ‘til the brotherhood governments sweep into power across the Arab land. It’s coming and all brought to you by the socialist/marxist left.

"The world will not "sit idly by," she said at a news conference, amid fears that Gadhafi will commit "unspeakable atrocities" against his people."

A blood-thirsty, hate-filled, Arab/Muslim monster sneaks into the house of an Israeli family and murders the kids and parents in their beds -- nary a peep by the ugly, phony-American Obama Regime. Then Hamas decides to lob mortars into Israel targeting civilians and anything else they can hit. I haven't heard the illegal alien pResident condemning this act of war.

(To liberal/communist Democrats reading this: I despise Obama and his communist Democrat Party. But I'm sure you'd guessed that by now.)

Continuing: But it seems that when Qaddafi starts attacking people who are trying to overthrow him, well that's a humanitarian crises" that demands American military intervention because "civilians" are being killed. An Arab/Muslim civil war of obscure origin and goals is cause enough for America to commit treasure and resources to people we know nothing about; to people who hate the USA? It's my belief that Arabs will always be ruled by dictators and religious fanatics. They are a race of people who are full of blood lust, easily swayed and manipulated in the name of Islam or by misguided nationalism or by any insane, would-be tyrant like Qaddafi who plays to their passions. Sort of like today's Democrats I'd say. Nothing will change in Libya regardless of who ends up in charge there. It is a waste of money, material and time for America to intervene in Libya.

End of rant.

If we just let the muslims kill each other, they might mainly stay focused on their internal conflicts.

But being an outsider, attacking muslims, turns all muslims against us, as outsiders.

Being both pragmatic and selfish, I would prefer muslims focus on killing muslims.

I hope nobody expects muslims to credit us, for gifting them freedom, democracy, etc. Bush, Cheney and now Obama follow that line, apparently.
