Didn’t offend me one bit. It was obvious that the ‘*’ was simply an after thought.

Did you see that photo in the article? No but about 1 million barrels per year seep into the Gulf each year naturally.

Maybe pipeline, producing platform, but not a drilling platform. Nobody drilling would try to get away with something like this. Could even be a boat being a little messy, accidentally or with a purpose.

Obama has to say he’s gotta go kick some ass again. Can’t he just eat his waffle?

It could be a black algae bloom. I seen one of those once from a helo and it sure looked like oil except it left no silver/rainbow sheen on the leading edges.

If it's another big leak like the last one, particularly if it's due to another wellhead that mysteriously failed, it screams sabotage. My money's on:
1) Russia
2) Iran
3) N. Korea
4) Obama
These jokers aren't just about hurting us a little, here and there, but totally bringing us to our knees, where a coup de grace would shortly follow. And they know their best bet is sometime during the next 22 months. The next 22 months is going to be pure hell.

There is moratorium on drilling in the Gulf, not possible to have spill.

Natural seepage comes up gradually and makes a barely perceptable sheen on parts of the surface. By contrast this is a big spill as spills go.

There are two sightings being reported. One says it is a half-mile long and the other says 100 miles. One hundred miles long will be viewable from space so I guess that can be confirmed when morning rolls around.
