Obama's Women Advisers Pushed War Against Libya
fox ^ | 3/20/11 | Robert Dreyfuss, The Nation

So three or four of Obama's advisers, all women, wanted war against Libya.   We'd like to think that women in power would somehow be less prowar, but in the Obama administration at least it appears that the bellicosity is worst among Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice and Samantha Power. All three are liberal interventionists, and all three seem to believe that when the United States exercises military force it has some profound, moral, life-saving character to it. Far from it.

Bet none of them have a child serving in the US military. They’re content to let other people’s kids put their lives on the line for what is obviously an idiotic adventure.

That’s easy to explain: The “womyn” in the administration have more balls than Zero.

The problem is that our current military intervention in Libya is and idiotic, useless exercise.

There were two foreign policy groups agitating to intervene.

First, as the article points out, the Liberal Interventionists in the dem party. And second, the NeoCons in the repub party. First out of the gate was NeoCon Eliot Cohen's article at WSJ and then NeoCon Paul Wofowitz's article at NYT.

OTOH, Realists such as Bob Gates were opposed.

Bouddica, Zenobia, Queen of Palmyra, Cleopatra, Elizabeth I, Maria Theresa, Golda Maier, Indira Gandhi, Maggie Thatcher... The guy’s an idiot.

All three are saying it’s hard to kick out a sitting president in time of war.

It really is about politics. And Obama, like the Pharaohs of Egypt, always had strong women as his advisers.

"Just like Mad Maddie in Kosovo"

Dem presidents ususlly put Liberal Interventionist in at Sec of State. Clinton under Obama. Albright under Clinton. Vance under Carter.

OTOH, republican presidents usually put Realists in at Sec of State. Rice and Powell under GW Bush. James Baker under GHW Bush. Schultz under Reagan. Kissinger under Nixon.
