This emotional video will break your heart. Listen as this 16-year-old special needs student talks to Craig Rivera about what happened when he was punched by school bullies. Plus, find out what police are or arent doing to protect the teen.
As the father of a special child, I will do everything in my power to keep him out of government schools.
The kid isn’t gay so I don’t see what the problem is here. After all we know that only gay bullying is not to be tolerated. </sarc>
That, or get him out of government school.
A no morals society.
And therefore, we should figuratively castrate every male school student.
Yeah, that’s probably not a good idea. This one is up to the adults to take care of and they are dragging. A little press might whip them into shape.
Looks like the puncher is black. No crime or hate crime committed here.
No, but maybe they should be taught to protect kids like this instead of punching them.
The authorities are definitely not on the side of someone who defends himself, heck in the UK he might face charges.
Nothing complicated here. Schools are run by liberals. Liberals are notable bullies and cowards themselves. Who would expect them to do anything except sanctimoniously claim they have a no-tolerance bullying policy? Which, naturally, they will never enforce.
The police say that he can’t be charged because no blood was shed??? Wow, that is awesome law enforcement. My response to that would have been to ask the police officer who gave the answer to confirm his “interpretation” of the law for me one more time as I am about to punch you in the gut as hard as I can since it is not against the law.
Some sh*t never changes
Though boys throw stones at frogs in sport, the frogs do not die in sport, but in earnest.
Greek bucolic poet (~100 BC)
I have no doubt the teens supended would tell you that they “were just having some fun”
The school and police should say - “you’re just doing 90 days for assult and battery.”
Sounds like dad needs to school the school board.
Anybody who would bully or pick on a handicapped kid or child is lower than the lowest piece of slime and scum on the face of the earth.
Good advice on Federal Court, but remember, the Feds are Obama Feds now, and they don’t care about white kids, disabled or not.
“Looks like the puncher is black.” Sorry to say, but that was the first thing I noticed. Are school officials intimidated because he’s black? It’s out of control.
Demand justice, and you’ll be called a racist.
I guess it doesn’t “get better” for autistic kids.
This is heartbreaking.
A nice lawsuit at the school, police, school board, and the parents of the assaulter would be suitable, I think.
As it stands now they cower and hide behind laws that protect their otherwise criminal and cowardly behavior knowing well they have the protection of the law to shield them. Far too long now they have acted immorally and they should be held accountable for their actions in their official capacities.
The Boston Strangler would have loved this town.
The police say that he cant be charged because no blood was shed??? Wow, that is awesome law enforcement. My response to that would have been to ask the police officer who gave the answer to confirm his interpretation of the law for me one more time as I am about to punch you in the gut as hard as I can since it is not against the law.A lot of people should lose their jobs over this.
A lot of people should lose their cushy jobs and their cushy pensions and their cushy medical care and their cushy dental care.
Then maybe the next crop of PUBLIC SERVANTS will think twice before spitting in the taxpayers' eyes.
"Hello? Should we just come back there and get our own, or what?"
I happened to flip to Fox last night about the time this story came on. It was so sad. When the camera went over to Gerald after the end of the story you could just see him seething at the story and I was like hmmmm Geraldo isn’t finished with this story just yet. Maybe he will do a follow up. Not that I’m a Geraldo fan, but I hope he does. The idiot school superintendents receptionist wasn’t very cooperative either. That poor kid.
Attacked by the feral population.
Don’t be messing with Holder’s people.
Could it be that the bully is black and the cops are maybe black as well? Who knows?! That's kind of what it sounds like IMO.
Great, you can beat up on a retard....aren’t you quite the manly man.
Oh yeah that’s right... the civilized world gives the mentally challenged a little more latitude and a larger benefit of the doubt.
I frankly don’t care if the kid who’s not at age appropriate IQ acted first, your responsibility as someone who is, is to be better than that. What a bunch of savages.
This child's legal protection lies in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Staff that won't deal with this are denying that child the education guaranteed him by federal law. Crush them. Make them pay.
As a father of a special needs child, I moved to a part of the country where this crap isn't tolerated.
You have to look at the “group” the attackers belong to, also, as a factor as to whether anything will be done about it.
Punch a cop in the stomach without "shedding blood" and I'm so sure they'll just laugh it off.
For the sake of the boy, I hope the parents get a good advocate. That poor kid.
I just find it hard to believe there isn’t a law to protect a special needs person - we have special laws for hate crimes or for elder abuse but nothing for a special needs child????? I hope the parents don’t let this one go by - they need to sue the boy involved and the school if they refuse to protect this child.
I have mixed feelings about posting this one. But I wish all bullying situations end up like this one.
Williams, over here. The attackers need someone to defend them.
I think the special needs kid tried to beat them up, but the video just doesn’t show it.
I have NO mixed feelings about that video - the bigger kid took it and took it, never taking even a defensive stance. The little prick was taunting him thinking he wouldn’t do anything (probably hadn’t many times in the past) - the little weasel got what he deserved. Thanks for posting it.
Media Meme alert. Very predictable outrage generation method ahead. Expect more of same until the “Sheeple” demand The Federal Government Do Something About It.
Then rinse and repeat.
Or others to step in and kick some bully ass, but sissification makes that less likely.
I think that a length of broom handle ended with about a dozen seve penny nails and wrapped in duct tape would solve the problem.
It did for me.
Well, the bully is a “protected class” don’t’cha know?
Where may I ask is that? I live in metro Atlanta, but I know that my 6½-year-old son will regress in the local public school. They are not equipped for nor are they interested in advancing his development. He is in his first year of private school now, and it has done wonders for him. His communication skills have improved tremendously.
It seems pretty obvious that the principal who handled this was choosing his battles carefully. If he had expelled the attackers, a bunch of “community leaders” would have been marching, and Al Sharpton would have come to town to support them. All the special-needs kid has going for him is the dim threat of a federal injunction. When the school superintendent was asked about the matter, he chuckled that he was through with it—meaning that he had saved his own job and those of his underlings. Balancing interest groups to stay afloat is what public education is about these days. Anyone who doesn’t like it can go elsewhere, but (unfortunately) they can’t take their school taxes with them.
Can anyone tell me where this happened?
My son, who is normal but was very tall for his age was punched at a football game by a HS kid who had been told by a 3rd student that my son was making smart remarks and was from another HS (he was actually 12 but nearly 6” tall).
The puncher came an apologized profusely when he found out he’d been “punked” by the 3rd party into assaulting a twelve year old.
My point is that sometimes these altercations occur because a unseen 3rd party is manipulating the aggressor often just for personal amusement.
This is just sad. Of all the reasons to homeschool, it’s one of the better ones, isn’t it?
