SANAA Yemen's president warned on Tuesday that his country would descend into civil war if he is forced to quit and Washington voiced concern about instability in the Arabian state where al Qaeda has a stronghold.
Unrelenting anti-government protests, which first began on February 3, and fresh defections among the ruling elite have added to the pressure on Saleh, a U.S. ally against radical Islamists, to step down immediately after 32 years in power.
But an aide said the president would leave office only after organizing parliamentary polls by January 2012 and he refused to hand over power without knowing who would succeed him.
"President Ali Abdullah Saleh said he will hand over power through (parliamentary) elections and the formation of democratic institutions at the end of 2011 or January 2012," Saleh's media secretary Ahmed al-Sufi told Reuters.
"Ali Abdullah Saleh does not seek power. Ali Abdullah Saleh will not leave without knowing who he is handing over to."
Defense Secretary Robert Gates voiced rare public alarm about the situation in Yemen: "We are obviously concerned about the instability in Yemen." He added that he was mainly anxious to avoid "diversion of attention" from opposing al Qaeda there.

So are we going to go bomb Yemen now too?
The Hillary trio of amazon Obammunists will get em.
This is what happens when Community Organizers get elected President.
That’s up to the POTUS. No one else has a say now.
Obama lit this fire in Cairo and now it is burning throughout the Middle East.
Another one of our "useful idiots" on the ropes.
This should concern us. Fundamentalist Muslims are taking over. - Tom

Great line screamin!
I'm sure Hill can handle little old Yemen all by herself!
Hey Barry! Let’s head over there next.
Actually, the useful idiots were not the dictators but the U.S. taxpayer who kept them in power all these years.
So are we going to go bomb Yemen now too?
--------------------------
| So now we're belligerents in an Arab War in The land of the Libu (the ancient Berber tribe). Zer0 is 'all in' now to do Al-Qaeda's dirty work - helping the Brotherhood take over North Africa. Is this the first time we ever started a war and the President was outside of the country and on vacation? Hope and Change.... Tragic.

| Qadaffi bombs the rebles, Obama increases his rhetoric. Qadaffi keeps going, Obama increases the rhetoric. Qadaffi says he'll blow up commercial jets. Obama declares Qadaffi a school bully. Quadaffi ignores Obama. 'Let me be clear, these terms are not negotiable,' Mr. Obama said. Quadaffi ignores Obama. Obama launches a missile attack. Qadaffi warns of 'long-drawn war' after airstrikes. Gates says targeting Qaddafi goes beyond UN resolution on Libya. What's next? Who gets to play the American 'Baghdad' Bob's part here?

Obomb them
Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen...all following the same script, with or without forceful removal by the UNbama. Look and see who’s stepping into the void.
I’m beginning to see a pattern here. More or less moderate muslim governments being replaced by hard core muslim governments. Started with Iran, Egypt,Libya,Yemen, Turkey wavering. And much of this change supported by American foreign policy in the name of Democracy! The only bright spot as of now is Iraq. In the end we will go to war with the muslims. No doubt in my mind.
Of course. And issue more “diversity visas” .

“If this keeps up, we might end up with US military forces intervening in every Muslim country in the world.”
And I’m guessing we would be spread very thin pretty quickly, without any real support from Europe.

Looks like Barry should’ve been focusing on other things besides hoops brackets...
If these countries fall to the Fundamenatlist Muslims they will become mini Irans.
Israel will be under incredible pressure. I can't begin to think of what world changing decisions will have to be made by the Israelis.
We are in a period of History where "The Events Are In Charge."
Nobody has a handle on the world situation these days.-Tom
“So are we going to go bomb Yemen now too?”
Who knows?
I think if we did, POTUS would just do some quick action for show, and then move on to bumbling something else, without utilizing the real resources needed to finish the job.
Obama doesn’t care. In fact, he WANTS unrest in the ME.
He has 20 more months to destroy the USA - he’s on track.
The magic word is “CALIPHATE”... his mission is to assist the Muzzies in setting it up.
And then the fun starts happening south of the border, when Chavez decides to get his war machine moving against Colombia.
yep, and bombing for freedom , all in the name of and to the benefit of Al Quaeda. Another Thank you to Barry-o
What Barry o needs to do is go for the head, Iran.
Where Christians are fleeing in droves for their lives. Where women are being required to wear burqas for the first time in decades. Where Muqtada al Sadr has returned from Iran to spread more of his Shi'ite.
And the Christians are being targeted and killed in Iraq. The overall Christian population is way down and they are fleeing Iraq.
The source of the the problem was our support of these dictators, who smashed any non-Islamic opposition through sadistic torture in murder, in the first place. Now we are paying the price for this lame-brained policy which was doomed to fail.
You were never under the impression that wasn't eventually going to happen, were you?
We are at war with Islam, and have been for over 30-years. The sooner we get it over with, the sooner we can all get back to our regular lives.
We facilitated one of those transitions in Iraq.
The more I see how fundamentalist Muslims behave, the more I understand Saddam Hussein.
At least with Yemen there would be a definable national interest (AQ).
There is no such interest in Libya. It’s a European problem.
Pakistan was very close to being overun a few months ago, and they are the next one to go.
Then the terrorists will have nukes
Things could get ugly really quickly no? I still hold out hope for Iraq but who knows. I knew when BO was elected the end result would be the sell out of Israel. Now we are seeing the strategy play out.
“Looks like Barry shouldve been focusing on other things besides hoops brackets...”
You assume he hasn’t been focusing on these things, but my concern is that he HAS been focusing, and his incorrigible community organizer heart rejoices in what is happening.
My own half-baked theory is that Obama’s goal in all of this is the destruction of Israel, because he doesn’t believe she has a right to exist. By supporting an Muslim world without the inconveniences of sovereign differences and with the unifying force of theocratic rule, he empowers the “downtrodden” Arabs to take care of their Israel problem.
“You assume he hasnt been focusing on these things, but my concern is that he HAS been focusing, and his incorrigible community organizer heart rejoices in what is happening.”
Well, there’s that too, of course- Barry conveniently burying his head in the sand to all of this.
He does care about al-Qaeda to the extent that it hurts him politically, though.
Not another blame-America-first DUmmy.
Me? Explain and justify. Details please.
