Hell be handing over leadership of the mission to someone at some point, but the details are still as vague and gassy as one of those jobs created or saved graphs.
Adm. Gary Roughead, the Chief of Naval Operations, said that he has received no guidance on the path ahead for command and control of the no-fly zone, no-drive zone, no-sail zone, arms embargo enforcement, and any other missions currently being managed by U.S. Africom Commander Gen. Carter Ham, who is in Germany. NATO has been battling internally over whether to take command, while the French governments latest proposal is to set up a political steering committee made of Western and Arab foreign ministers
Roughead also said theres no guarantee that U.S. military forces would be able to decrease their presence or activities when the transition takes place. In other words, the U.S. military might give up control, but still be doing most of the work.
Not only is there no guarantee, the U.S. role in the skies over Libya has actually increased this week. Danger Room crunches the numbers: On Monday, more than half of the 80 missions over Qaddafiland were flown by U.S. allies. Over the past 24 hours, of 175 missions flown, the USAF has been responsible for 113. Maybe thats a temporary blip, part of an all-out push to obliterate Qaddafis air force before letting less competent air forces take the lead. (If so, its been a success.) Or, more ominously, maybe its because some of our allies lack the capacity to sustain a bombardment campaign against a tinpot dictator beyond a few days.

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
The Admiral shouldn’t feel bad, his boss doesn’t know what to do either.
Drudge is running a story that 2,200 Marines from the 26th MEU are “supporting” the mission to protect the rebels in Libya. It’s not clear if they’re still on the lsd’s or on the ground. Any bets how long it will be before we’re in this up to our hip pockets?
“Operation Aimless Fury!”.
Not my original but love it!
Obama’s poll numbers keep rising, and the elite are wee-weed up to excuse his every insane action and damn and mock those who in all sanity and wisdom would call his orders and actions for what they are — that is either treason, imbecility, or insanity.
Meanwhile smart, sane and good-hearted Sarah Palin is fiendishly attacked and denigrated mercilessly.
(sarcasm)(?)
Obama was later quoted as saying, “Who?...” as he masterfully wedged a hand-full of cheesecake into his face hole.
Then he bogeyed the 8th.

That struck me too. Our Admiral doesn’t know what the mission is. Our President is unclear, or at least unclear at communicating, exactly what the mission is.
Can I ask why in the sam hill we got involved in this if we don’t even know what the heck our mission is?
In that case at least some of the lives at stake were American.
This is the most astounding situation I could have ever imagined. God help us all......
Navy chief: Were not sure what the next stage is in Libya but we are getting ready to move our Central Naval Command to the Ship of the Desert
Any golf courses in Libya? If so, I think they became key terrain in order to give us a marked advantage over the enemy.
From the title I thought we were going to get the real facts but it turns out the “chief” is just some admiral and not a CPO.
First rule is to make your “commander’s intent” clear, so even if leadership is decapitated or cannot be reached, you understand and can complete your mission.
‘nuf said.
We got involved because the Chief of Staff is not a warrior. He’s a politician and looking out for himself.
Dead from the neck up.
“Admiral, did you wargame this operation?”
“Well of course we did, and each time, we had hotels on Boardwalk and Park Place.”
“First rule is to make your commanders intent clear, so even if leadership is decapitated or cannot be reached, you understand and can complete your mission.”
Stop that!
The No. 1 mission is to secure beachheads for king obuma to flex his skinny Marxist pecs, and find 5,000 calorie ribs for her fatness, Michelle.
