The NYT artcile linked below takes on the air of child-like wonder when the author seems to ponder how it is that the "young, educated secular activists who initially propelled the nonideological revolution are no longer the driving political force"
RPR and most other rational, intelligent observers noted the Muslim Brotherhood was the only truly prepared to assume the mantle of power in a post-Mubarak Egypt, and that, it appears, is exactly what's happening. Despite the crying and wailing, secular Egyptians are doomed to loose this fight. The Egyptians do not, and have never had, a culture of Liberty. I have no idea what the concept means based on the hysterical and continuous call for Democracy which is not but mob rule.

Jimmah Carter and the former Shah of Iran comes to mind for some reason.
You are posting this lame and ill-written blog material as “News”?
I would much rather here from the so called conservatives that had the pie in the sky ideal that this would turn out different. Iran is playing america like a violin. Where be the fred barns clowns.
Do the unions know that democracy is NOT mob rule?

The elements of a clash well beyond the magnitude of ww2 are slowly coalescing.
Yep, most people felt pretty good when Kerensky assumed power after the Czar abdicated, but he was destined to only be a footnote in history.
UN, Soros, Jeffrey Sachs, and CIA NGO’s did the same thing in the Balkans. Clinton did a bit of bombing there as well.
It does seem that while all eyes were focused on the educated youth who did want a secular democracy of some sort and who publicly displayed religious tolerance in Tahrir Square, the MB and the Army were in a back room negotiating the future of Egypt.
There was one guy that said something like it was OK until the guys with the beards started to show up.
The only revolution that has ever turned out worth a damn was the American Revolution.
Isn’t that the truth.
“... Democracy which is not but mob rule.”
But this is what liberals believe democracy is! So it is no wonder the the media pundits were fooled.
Leftist Intellectuals always hope they will end up on top of the pile after the revolution. In reality, they are usually the first to be purged.
