How does one become a prominent family expert? What is a prominent family expert?
By studying all the idiots that are responsible for unwed pregnancies, single-parent families, sexually transmitted diseases, deficient fatherhood, and high abortion rate.
Patrick Fagan studies and statistically analyzes the social impacts of various cultural and legal impacts on marriage and the family. He studies such influences as religion or lack thereof on family formation, longevity and well-being; and he monitors social movements such as the legalization of birth control, the influence of feminism and mothers working outside the home, as well as the effects of gay marriage on societies where it has been legalized, comparing various indications of success or failure both before and after these key changes.
Fagan was with the Heritage Foundation for decades, and has recently been with the Family Research Council, both DC-based think tanks which attempt to counter the relentless Marxism infecting our government. He reads the social science literature of marriage and family, and confers regularly with other family scholars around the world.
