Libyan rebels have overcome Muammar al-Qaddafi's forces in strategic oil town of Ajdabiya, seizing control of the city Saturday in a major turnaround for an uprising that appeared to be on the verge of defeat.
Libyan government forces pulled out from the city of Ajdabiya following an air assault by Western coalition forces, a senior government official told Reuters.
"Without the planes we couldn't have done this. Qaddafi's weapons are at a different level than ours," said Ahmed Faraj, 38, a rebel fighter from Ajdabiya. "With the help of the planes we are going to push onward to Tripoli, God willing."
Drivers honked in celebration and flew the tricolor rebel flag. Others in the city fired their guns into the air and danced on burned-out tanks that littered the road. Inside a building that had served as makeshift barracks for pro-Qaddafi forces, hastily discarded uniforms were piled on the floor.
Saif Sadawi, a 20-year-old rebel fighter with an RPG in his hands, says the city's eastern gate fell late Friday and the western gate fell at dawn Saturday after airstrikes on both those locations.

Ghadaffi turned over his WMD program, sat and rolled over for Bush. We have no right to regime change somebody who is playing by the rules.

This is not a mission to enforce a no fly zone. This is an aerial intervention in a civil war where foreign nations are bombing the ground forces of the official government troops and giving air cover for the rebels.
If this isn’t war, then WWII was not a war.

The genocide that will occur after we overthrow Ghadaffi will most likely pale in comparison to the alleged genocide that we are allegedly attempting to stop

So the so called no fly zone has gone to directing support fire, what a damn joke, the next president will need to kill all the rebels. Make that the AQ brotherhood, the commanders in Iran are shocked this has succeed beyond their wildest plans.
Vietnam was much more justified than this.

Seems I read somewhere we have to bomb the h@!! out of Libya in order to clear the way for a no fly zone. So you see, it is not mission creep afterall.
I'm sorry I don't like the precedence this is setting, not just for us but for the world.

Atleast in Vietnam we were protecting one nation from another. This is 100% involved in a nation's civil war and we have no idea who the people are we're sorties for.

Does Gadaffi know something that Obama doesn't want to get out in public? Or somebody else blackmail Obama about something?

Hamas is asking the UN to stop Israel from it's assaults on Gaza. So the answer is obvious, and this action clearly sets a precedent to use NATO, the UN, and the Arab League to launch an air war on Isreal and enforce a no fly zone to protect her enemies.

You know...that was my first thought as the bombing commenced. However, now that we know exactly who these "rebels" are, I am more of the opinion that Barry is assisting with the islamic takeover of yet another country.
This action is more closely related to the K'Toon's unapproved war in Kosovo. We go in and kill the Christians, or in this case the secular government, to pave the way for an islamist takeover/state.
Hmmmm, minus the bombs it may more closely resemble what Jimmuh did in Iran.
Regardless of the tactics, America has now directly intervened to overthrow secular governments, allowing for an islamic take-over.
