I will be surprised if the IRS does anything. But I wonder whether Murdoch could have a civil action against MM for tortious interference with his business relationships.
Any FReeper lawyers have an opinion?
Last time Soros targeted FOX ,with NPR it backfired on him. The Juan Williams firing was done right after Beck pointed out Soros is a currency manipulator and our dollar may be a target. MM claimed at that time they are going after Fox.
But Beck has (normally) less than 2 million viewers! It just amazes me that so much pressure would be put on just a small group. It seems so un-American.
The ironic part is that I cannot recall an example of the right going after anyone on TV - it’s actually entertaining in short segments to watch the spin and contortions on MSNBC, etc. - there is no reason to go after hosts or advertisers.
I wonder if targeting Beck is at some level a free speech issue that should be looked into - I suppose not since the opposition is simply practicing free speech. The whole thing just seems wrong.
Fox News ought to offer Brock his own show, just to see how he responds.
Fox yawns asks what else is new in Media Matters puppets?.
It should be fun to watch Maddow and Special Ed to see their reactions to this. The only question is how many people from MM and other lib groups can they fit in during a one hour show to repeat the same taking points.
True, but still it just makes no sense - 2 to 5 million viewers hour by hours - viewers not unlike the mix here - it’s not like we will be boycotting advertisers or changing the channel - it only invites the curious to watch to see if evil stuff is going on. It always turns out to be a part of a story that hasn’t been told or an entire story that hasn’t been covered and the worst of all (just kidding)- repeating parts of stories or whole stories that tend to put the powers that be in a bad light, sometimes when what’s been borders on treason (at least lately) - it’s truly a ‘we report, you decide’ environment with some selling of the ‘right’ way on opinion shows. No big deal, just don’t watch but if you don’t you are missing a lot of interesting stuff and alternate opinions.
I suppose one needs at least an open mind to watch Fox or perhaps just be sane.
