Really? because when I was in we we're directed to reefer to our Marines as "Marines" or "troops" never "Soldiers".
There's a word for that: defeatism. That's why we always lose...because too many of us are unwilling to take on the leftists directly, and just say: "We're going to repeal this, because it's a bad idea. And if you don't like it, tough!"
That's what the left does to us. And they win, because they aren't afraid of consequences.
It's time for us to start pushing back.
"lipstick lesbians" are hot, on the theory that they're really sort of bi and and there's a chance to pick up the spare. Dykes, on the other hand....
Play the LITHPING Marine video!
Even Germans havn't gone this low!
So much for, “This is my rifle, this is my gun...”
The extremely gross thing that will drive people out and away from the marines will be the adult education series in boot camp for “Safe Sodomy”, practices for keeping safe while pounding each other in the butt and giving each other oral sex. I am not kidding. Expect it.
Care to explain?
“Zero. There is almost 10% unemployment. “
Wrong! I know a Marine officer that the wife just hired. She just resigned over homosexuals in the marines.
Theories are good.
“their HONOR comes before perversion”
The “their” in your statement is correct today but liberals do not work on today, they work on tomorrow. Give the military a few months or a few years and that “their” will include the mentally ill homosexuals that have no honor. From that will be complete and total acceptance of queer behavior.
I agree with you about defeatism and we do it all the time....guilty as charged. However, my issue to fight is abortion and getting rid of that massacre. I will always put forth my efforts towards that. I am 100 percent sure that others will take the gays in the military by storm. After 38 years of fighting the pro-abortion zealots, I wish them luck because they will need it.
No rank, but delegated every $hitty job no one else will do, simply because I will do it. I have recently gained appreciation and understanding of those who vanish when things require doing.
I have found that the more you accept, the more that is expected of you. I have also found that those who vanish before the task are at hand to criticize your performance after the action.
This matters not to me.
As much as you or I don’t like it, the commanders have no choice. This is a lawfull order and must be followed.
As persuasive as they anecdotal may or may not be, I have seen no reporting to suggest people are resigning from service, nor have I seen any statistical information that suggests non-ob officers are resigning.
Put another way, the "friend of a friend" anecdote doesn't have much statistical value. The Pentagon is not bracing for a mass exodus of non-ob officers over this.
That's understandable. In a way, though, they are really part of the same core problem, which is a tough one to fight, and has been fought for thousands of years.
I can’t speak as to the other services, but the related Army policies and training specifically state that they will not make any special exceptions, allow breaking of any committments, etc. to allow soldiers to leave.
Due to the state of the economy, I highly doubt anyone will leave due to DADT repeal. Those that say that is their reason probably have another, less savory reason for getting out.
I expect to have the living $hit stomped out of me for this post, but so be it. Wont be the first, maybe the last.
I resigned my commission because of the election of Clinton, and in retrospect, that was just plain dumb. The Corps is still there. Bill ain't.
My son in law is career military. Ive had several conversations with him about this very issue. His attitude and the attitude of those with him is that when commands are issued its their job to obey without question. They are not to question but to understand that those who give the commands understand the situation and issues better then they could. We the people have no idea what the bigger issues are and should have faith in those in leadership positions because they know more then we do about whats going on in the world.
You can take the naïve position that they will do the right thing but dont cry fowl when you are being told what to do or even being herded into safe haven camps. Waco and Ruby Ridge may give you an idea of whether or not they will act against citizens.
Napoleon nailed it right on the head. Better to resign than destroy your own men.
Yeah, but while sticks and stones may break your bones, virtual stompings don’t really mean poop...
Sounds relative to me.
“The Pentagon is not bracing for a mass exodus of non-ob officers over this.”
Too early to tell, really, so your comments that no one is leaving are useless. I know people not enlisting and I know of people are planning on leaving. Only time will tell and any comments either way a premature.
“It is a necessary survival mechanism “
You’re just going to have to explain that one, if you don’t mind.
That's what I've advised my son. Especially in light of the way that combat Marines have been cut loose by some of their operational commanders to the jollies of JAG officers prosecuting them for making war. Not talking about drug dealing or theft or murder but war and combat situations with ROE that take us out of offensive and into a probing defensive posture.
We OWN the night, we own comms, our fitness and fire discipline is second to none. I have and I would gladly allow my fire teams and those of Marines to cover me into any fight, but I sure wouldn't want to face a bunch of REMF prosecuting me when a bad guy says that I 'murdered' some civilians that he's using as cover or other such BS.
War sucks, combat sucks, but having Obamalama ding dong looking up from his NCAA basketball brackets and sports prognostications to "tsk-tsk" about my son or my brothers dying in combat...or Hillary waddling about and pretending she has even a basic concept of asymmetrical warfare and counter insurgency explaining herself to the MSM makes me want to puke.
Never going to happen. It's still a free country and my advice to mine is to find something you're good at and stick it to the bureaucrats every chance you get. The good news is that I've got 4 kids and they want big families, liberals are either too busy killing their baby's and the homosexuals aren't able to make 4-5 clones of themselves...babies take the attention away from them and people with gender identification issues, poor impulse control and narcissistic sociopathic tendencies don't do well with large groups of people sharing or losing their "identity" to become part of a unit. They want to be the star... no stars in the Marines. We're all the same.... miserable turds trained to kick somebody's a##.
The way the pink Marines and other gay activist joining the service are going to work this is service related disabilities. Mark this and bank on it. Once one homosexual sets up shop, he/she/it is going to have a treadmill of fellow travelers that will form pink palaces like what happened to the Catholic church in the late 50's-60's.
Remember, they're not "pedophile" priests...they are "male homosexual predators". That's what they do, it's just a natural thing that is now going to be protected by the DOJ, JAG and UCMJ. Well see how this all shakes out in about 10-15 years.
Have fun fellas, Semper Fi.
Here are my questions to the “leadership” that is pushing this. There are only so many ways that you can practice homosexuality, and sodomy is still on the books under the UCMJ. Does this mean the sodomy laws are gone too?
The military is a place for young, healthy, heterosexual, men. I pissed off many in that statement, I know. Well, I'm old for the Army and I'm a cripple, so I too don't belong there anymore. To many in our society, homo's, feminists etc. the Army and Marines are a bastion of the patriarchal society and they wish the affirmation of their beliefs and lifestyle, not really be part of this awesome green machine. to them conquering the Army and Marines means they are now legitimate and equal. That's why you have all of these people drive around with their little equal sign bumper stickers.
In our society everything is explained through the conflict theory and nothing has a reason or purpose for being the way it is. In our society we intentionally make things more gray than they really are in order to obfuscate the situation and be able to take whatever position we want, usually what feels good (hedonism). The gay issue in the DoD is a sad statement because in all reality homosexuals have been allowed to serve for a long time and this isn't about being allowed to serve, but rather them wanting affirmation.
Why homosexuality is an issue in the DoD:
1. HIV is not really detectable for 2 - 26 weeks after exposure. In all fairness, by month three nearly all will be detected. Basically, the antibodies take time to build and you can do a lot of infecting in that time. The primary blood supply of the DoD is the DoD and it's dependents. Condoning this sort of “behavior” is nothing less than adding risk to the formula. There is a reason why as a soldier you put your blood type on your helmet, arm sleeve and it's on your dog tags and ID. Number one cause of death = loss of blood.
2. There is a reason why private Manning is not a name mentioned by the gay community or Obama himself that wants to reap all the benefits from this crusade. Just like ones inability to manage ones finances, control where one puts their sexual organs, an ideological disgruntled employee....... this is a rift, a fault line that is often the cause for people to act in a malicious manner. things like this are the “causes” or the cracks which bad guys exploit to recruit folks that collect for them. being more open will not reduce this threat, no less than DADT where they said the same thing. The issue is in reality that these people have a psychological disorder we today aren't allowed to call such.
3. There are issues with infrastructure and logistics that are created by allowing openly gay personnel. The DoD is a place where you have many jobs lacking any semblance of privacy and it is difficult to create this in austere conditions.
4. Commanders/commands will ultimately be held accountable for the actions of their subordinates which they cannot control 24/7. As with women in combat arms (A very bad idea) you are setting yourself up for problems and then will hang some poor CPT or LTC out to dry when something happens. I as a former CPT am very happy that I won't have to deal with this, just one more thing to worry about, one more thing I can't really control but which could end my career.
5. There is a huge hypocrisy that will now develop within the DoD and specifically the UCMJ. if allowed, they (the civil military leadership pushing this stupidity) would rather not address it, but realistically every homosexual practices sodomy by definition and now what do we do with all this code? If we are not to be hipocrites, we now need to completely overhaul all sorts of other rules that apply to Sexual behaviors and relationships in the DoD.
As it was worked well but obviously didn't allow those like Manning to run around in pumps with a big rainbow sign on post, so they had to push further. Thank goodness for some open minded person like Obama to see their plight!/sarc As it was DADT allowed gays to serve and as long as they stay discreet, there was no issue and the five aforementioned areas of concern are also minimal concerns under DADT. DADT was a compromise where the organizational needs were given some consideration as well as the right of gays of whom some surely do wish to serve and will do so with distinction. The problem is that this obviously didn't go far enough and now the organizational needs are irrelevent.
I also suspect that gays will be steered towards REMF MOS's (how appropriate), and that they'll try to keep them out of the combat arms.
In Romans chapter 1, the Bible condemns both female and male homosexual behavior.
I hope you don't mind if I stick with "Kick-Ass Warrior".
For all you stand for,
They will deal with this like they have dealt with stupid decisions by politicians since the time of their formation, at the time of the American Revolution.
I suppose one could say we are “soldiers of the sea” if they want to stretch it that far. However, as a retired Marine, I do mind being referred to as a soldier. I am a Marine. To me soldiers always denotes Army service which is just fine but I was not Army.I have a friend who was in the Corps with me, when her contract was up she went into the first civ div...then a few years later, into the Army and she retired as a LtCol. She too was proud of her Marine Corps time and in her Army office
she displayed her Marine plaque, the flag set etc and trust me, no one messed with her! To this day she is more proud of her Marine time than the Army stints....( and to hear her tell it, while she was on active duty in the Army she tells me former Marines now in the Army could be picked out in a heart beat. It was always about bearing.) To each their own...but I will correct those who call me a soldier and simply say I am a retired Marine..
I should add one other thing..often we Marines make the mistake of calling our junior personnel “troops”. I have heard more than once a this statement corrected by a SGTMAJ or CWO..reminding others that they are not toops, they are Marines. Troops are in the Army.
This is not a slam against anyone who has served in the Army..they are strong fighters too..it is just a matter of who we are and the distinction we earned.
That is correct and it is interesting to note that while one is in boot camp, he or she is called RECRUIT...they are not called MARINE until they graduate..
yeah, they'll be harmless. Probably be in HQ, communications, intel, supply, finance, legal, combat support.... what could possibly go wrong with having a Marine with gender identification issues, poor impulse control and open to blackmail, or lover's spats have to offer the Corps.
Get an officer that has a favorite "friend" and just imagine what a unit will turn into when it becomes a little pink fiefdom. Young men open to blackmail, legal hardball in order to protect favorites and ,God forbid, you have bunk buddies in a forward unit and one is in charge, who pulls point? Who's the first in the door to clear a room? Who rides 2nd vehicle in a convoy? Who does route clearance or rides the turret?
The Corps will live forever. The butt munchers and maggots like Murtha never were Marines. They were just along for the ride and never committed heart and soul to Corps.
They'll never know or understand what the Corps is all about. America's Warriors.... period...that's what they do, that's what they train for, that's all that it should be about... not about who gets the procurement job after they retire, how close to the O-club their parking space is, how nice they look dressed up and going to the parties at HQ or DC.
It sucks but after you're done, you love it and know that others are jealous of what you represent and what other Marines have done in the past.
too bad Dan Rather and Hillary Clinton never joined the Corps like they said they wanted to.... it might have straightened up their brain housing group, but I doubt it.
No...that would be awesome. :-)
Just to be clear, I think this is a terrible policy. However, I do have to say that I’m pretty sure the best corpsman I ever had was gay. He was kind of like the platoon nurse.
It's a distraction from the main mission of the Marine Corps. Protect the country, be the point of the spear and hold yourself in a manner that is honorable to the Corps, your country and yourself.
Great, great point. If there was someone who was gay and didn’t advertise it, was discrete, etc., it would never become an issue at all. The problem with this policy is that there is no longer a reason to do that.
