When I was in Iraq as a navy hospital corpsman, in a marine infantry battation, a friend of mine sent me a Christmas present that included porno magazines. When I wanted to send a box to myself, a mail clerk told me that, because of Iraqi porno laws, Americans aren’t allowed to mail adult material. I said, “Why can someone send those magazines into Iraq, but I can’t mail them out of Iraq?” He said, “I don’t know. Someone else made the rules, and they didn’t tell me why.”
You aren’t allowed porn in theater at all. The clerk was wrong about it being Iraq specific.
That’s an ancient rule too. Good order and discipline, etc, etc.
Yep, because they have to go through everything you send out. No porno, no captured weapons, etc.
Same thing when you leave going through customs: they check everything!
LOL Still don’t know how I got that .50 cal bullet out. Luck I guess.
When I deployed the word was that any soldier who received porno in the mail was required to turn it in immediately to the first sergeant, heh, heh.
Oh, Top backed it up with random health & welfare inspections. The fear was not our moral degradation but someone selling Playboy to the local labor who were not hajjis but secular muslim Uzbeks who had the vodka to swap for it.
Anyway, this is disgusting. And yes, pro-gay sensitivity training is already in draft form for all the services.
I retired two months ago after thirty four years (break in service) beginning with Vietnam. But this latest is enough to make one weep.
