Interesting. I could use the same argument. We still have leverage should we choose to use it. What about some hardball such as threatening hearings into the war and/or the threats to shut down the govt on the dem side? What about defunding specific parts of the govt if we don't cut other parts drastically?
What about doing what it takes to defund 0bamacare?
No, I think we have leadership that doesn't want to do any of that because they believe in the dems goals and for that reason the GOP leadership needs to be protested and ultimately replaced.

I don’t think it makes a difference. The Reagan era GOP got rolled, Bush rolled the GOP base, GW era spent more than LBJ and now we got Obama with crying game ‘leader’ of the GOP.

I blame Boehner the most but McConnell is not helping either. The whole RINO establishment is killing off the hope of resurrecting the GOP. I don't know if the third party types will be satisfied trying to rebuild it anymore. We may end up splitting the party. Oh well, I won't vote for a RINO under any circumstance so bring it on...
Remember, the GOP was an insurgent third party in the late 1850’s and they did the same thing to the do-nothing Whigs in 1860.

I rather like the Independence model, the Civil war model, the 1917 revolt, even Hitler's putsch and Pol Pot. Granted all fell short, but nothing would of been done without radicalization and identification of enemies, which not only do I feel is accurate, but necessary.

That’s a joke of course because the debt will rise to the point that the compounding interest will drive the country under well inside of twenty-four years.
How much time do we have? Can we run a $1.5T Deficit this year? How about a $1.4T the year after that? What about after that?
I mean if you have no limit then there is no reason to cut anything so what is your limit? How much time do we have?
On the plus side, this sort of thing happened at the beginning of the Republic and your country made it through.
Our time is limited. That is why we need a measured, tactical approach, rather then a childish tantrum approach. We cannot afford to fail, so we must be willing to take whate we can today, take the Senate and Whitehouse tomorrow and then fight our big battles.
We must gather our troops and resources for the big battle, while slowly taking ground and preparing the offensive.
