The U.S. shouldn't arm Libyan rebels because there's no telling whose hands those weapons could eventually reach, the chairman of the House Select Intelligence Committee said. As we publicly debate next steps on Libya, I do not support arming the Libyan rebels at this time," Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) said in a statement Wednesday. "We need to understand more about the opposition before I would support passing out guns and advanced weapons to them. Its safe to say what the rebels stand against, but we are a long way from an understanding of what they stand for."

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
all the television footage I’ve seen on the Libyian Rebels tells my untrained eye that these Rebels don’t know jack about weapons or combat tactics. They’re seen firing into the air and driving their vehicles back and forth along the road. (Seen a guy risk his life dodging mortar rounds retriving a plastic toy gun.)
If you give a Rebel a weapon..
He’s gonna need a trainer.
And if you send in a trainer,
the trainer is gonna need support.
If you send in support,
You’re gonna need supplies.....
on and on and on....
(I know too much ‘If you give a pig a pancake’)
We would have no problem getting a few sneaky Petes NCOs and maybe some Gunnery Sergeants to teach a few of those kids to shoot these:
We must make then know, if and when they turn on us, we will have no choice but to nuke them. We will lose the weapon either way.
I hope the stories about the rebels' expressions of gratitude are true. I hate when a good feeling turns out to be based on something I am embarrassed to admit I ever believed.
Should be no harm in arming the libyan al-qaida mustlim-brotherhood rebels. After all, we’ve been giving million$ of ton$ of arms to Hamas in Gaza, and they never been used against us... or Israel, right?
I gotta know the rest of that one. I'll trade you. Why should you take two Mormons fishing? If you take only one, he will drink all your beer.
Seems like this would be a great opportunity for a GOP candidate for President to stand up and define this mission, and ask questions about the “rebels”.
Where is Sarah Palin? I saw Michelle Bachman on the Today Show this morning, and she ate Matt Lauer’s breakfast for him. It was an impressive performance by Bachman. Presidential, one might say...
But it's in no way clear what they stand for.
Please, let's not be naive.
Arm the Libyan people while disarming the American people.
She is one strong women. I would hate to be her husband, always telling me to shut up and make her some pie. And I do it.
If you give a pig a pancake
is a children’s book.
‘If you give a mouse a cookie’
‘If you give a moose a muffin’
and on and on and on.
I have a nice M-1 carbine. But a Garand would be grand too.
“”all the television footage Ive seen on the Libyian Rebels tells my untrained eye that these Rebels dont know jack about weapons or combat tactics.””
They know as much as the reporters - some gal last week reported that they were rounding up and “recuperating” the weapons of the military!!!! UGH!!!
Mr. Rogers, I think we can safely make some educated guesses on this. It sure won't be a good day in the neighborhood if we sell arms to our enemies.
Why would you give ‘dem rebels the finest combat rifle ever know to man?
I don't know what he should have done , but I can imagine President George H.W Bush has tremendous remorse for creating hope among the anti Saddam forces and not being able to prevent their slaughter..
Hell what do I know, I wanted all the targets in North Viet Nam engaged by our wonderful Navy's artillery and missile delivery systems and McCain could have just stayed out to sea.
I would just as soon nuke them if they will not let Ann Coulter convert them to whatever she is.
Mike Rogers (R-Mich.)
