When a good portion of Americans wake up to the facts of the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) non-disclosure regarding what IS a motor vehicle and what is not a motor vehicle, along with the true definitions of the associated words shared below, they will realize that all acts are voluntary AND who actually has the true power. (Not the usurpers!)

Once more people awaken and comprehend the word tricky used by govt/ attorneys, the sooner the Republic can be brought back from it's current corporate state.

I remember when my car registration had the statement “the undersigned declares that he is operating a motor vehicle,” so yeah, I’ve known about this legal trickery for at least 20 years. Driving (drayage) is by definition operating a commercial vehicle, and calling yourself a driver, instead of a traveller, makes you subject to all the laws governing commerce, and simultaneously makes null your Constitutional protections. But try and tell that to the 12 people the state lines up to crucify you.

It’s an old custom for bureaucrats to name bureaus inaccurately. State DMVs typically license trailers, which clearly have no motor, but are intended for road use.

Nobody has found an easy loophole yet and this (which is a state not a national issue) is far, far, far down on the list of things that fundamentally imperil American freedom.

The easy solution is to defund every government agency, at whatever level that imperils American freedom. We've made a few tentative steps that direction.

Cut off funding, stop the BS. Don't fight them, close the purse.

Where do these Chicken Littles in cars cite any court case in which they “forfeit Constitutional freedoms”? This is very bare of particulars.

In another 25 years when the NWO is in full force there will only be trains for the common folks to ride on. Cars will be forbidden.

Thirty years ago there was a few over in Grass Valley, CA who used to drive without plates or licenses. If you were polite and gracious the cops would generally allow you to continue on your way.

You can’t argue post-facto a jurisdiction issue, and standing on principle when the State Police lights are flashing behind you is problematic. There are bigger, more publicly conducive fish to fry, and even though I would acquit someone standing on a “right to travel” argument, I doubt that my view is in the majority.

What do you expect, a newb posted a 20 year old alt.paranoia.govt thread. I've seen this crap before. The real solution to government over-reach, whatever you think it is, is to defund the government.

So this guy is arguing we should do away with license plates and car registrations in the name of freedom?

I don’t get it.

I’m one conservative who believes licensing all vehicles using public roads IS a LEGITIMATE duty of the State.

Licensing, vehicle registration and inspection help protect EVERYONE who travels, which is, really, everyone. Government use of tax dollars can only be justly used to the benefit of all, IMHO, and safety, and crime prevention (through registration) on the road is certainly one area benefiting all.

This kind of radical libertarian thinking gives conservatives a bad name, IMHO.

Thanks for yelling, it doesn’t add one iota of gravitas to your ARGUMENT. I immediately ignore such posts, so have a nice day!

But I’ll reply to myself! Commerical vehicles are the proper object to tax, because they use the road to make money. No one argues this point. A little known fact: Governments don’t own roads, they maintain them. Roads that go unused for 2 years quite often fall back under imminent domain to the owner(s), usually one on each side. Check your land plat at the courthouse, the property lines always extend to the middle of the road.

Then why are farm vehicles expempted from registration and licensing? A 12 year old driving a tractor is legal on most roads in the US.

Government can't insure safety, or prevent crime. Government can only enforce torts, or prosecute people that commit crimes.

Government doesn't need to be involved in prevention. That's open ended forever.

Exempted means subject to tax, but “exempted.” Get it? Even churches are subject to tax, they are just exempted. And every dollar that you earn is subject to tax also, but you are “allowed” deductions, and the rate is kept at Non-pitchfork levels. Words are tricky, are they not?

Farm tractors aren't road taxed. They are allowed on roads. They are not subject to tax. Words aren't tricky, facts aren't tricky, liars and politicians are.

Wrong, they are subjects that can be taxed, but they are exempted. You know much Padawan, but you have far to travel.

I've been here about 11 years longer than you, newb. And I was on the newsgroups long before that.

You can KMA on the padawan bs.

De facto, farm tractors are not road taxed.

You have much to learn about how to effectively take back our Republic.
