Can’t be, remember we were told it couldn’t possibly come here. Milk doesn’t have that in it, but it does. Oh yeah, but it won’t hurt anyone

immediately.

Ever tried to get that glass of milk at midnight and spill it, ‘coz, damn, you couldn’t see it? Well now it’ll come with its own illumination!

According to the EPA, if you spill that milk you MUST have a hazardous substance containment and cleanup program in place.

This is for ordinary milk, not just the

HYPER-CONTAMINATED, RADIOACTIVE, JAPANESE WE”RE ALL GOING TO DIE stuff.

Well, that's my first story to the city inspector. The second one is 'ok, he's a pig. I'll get rid of it now. Care to drop by for BBQ later?"

That’s what I’m wondering. After all, it’s not like radioactivity can come from anywhere else. Now, granted, this may be the detection of a specific isotope which can be traced to the reactor, in which case I withdraw the question, but substitute another: has the radioactivity really been in the environment so long that it’s showing up in secondary and tertiary food products now?

No, because it's my house, my milk, my lights, and I turn them on when I walk around if I need to.

Yes, I've been married more than once, yes, I'm single again. ;)

I do put the seat and the lid down on the toilet, but that goes to a big dog drinking out of the big waterbowl.

Luke 8

23and while they were sailing he fell asleep. A squall blew over the lake, and they were taking in water and were in danger.

24They came and woke him saying, "Master, master, we are perishing!" He awakened, rebuked the wind and the waves, and they subsided and there was a calm.

25Then he asked them, "Where is your faith?" But they were filled with awe and amazed and said to one another, "Who then is this, who commands even the winds and the sea, and they obey him?"

An average banana contains about half a gram of potassium.
Therefore it will have an activity of 15 Bq.

1 banana= 15 Becquerel to Picocuries
810 Picocuries per Gram

It wouldn’t surprise me if that reading is is the same as what the reading would have been a year ago. Of course they weren’t taking readings a year ago.

Thanks!

“1 banana= 15 Becquerel to Picocuries
810 Picocuries per Gram”

vs.

“0.8 pico curies per literlevel of iodine-131”

To compare would we need to convert a liter of milk to grams?

That must mean that grass and feed water have radioactive iodine present. Next up will be crops in Washington State and then drinking water at the faucets. Damn. They have the most awesome peaches on the east side of the Cascades. Problem will only get worse. They have no control on the 4 broken reactors and do not expect control for months now. So levels will climb to a peak that we have not reached yet. And exposure will occur over time. This will be a slow drawn out event, at the very best.

re: What was the reading BEFORE the reactor events?

Bingo! That was my first thought, especially after seeing this line in the story:

“The EPA said it increased monitoring after radiation leaked from Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant”

It's like a blood pressure measurement, a single instance means nothing. It takes a series of measurements to give any meaning to the situation.

It's like the old trick researchers use when they're having trouble getting their sample to show the trend they hope to find. If there's only one person in the sample then it's “In our sample, without exception, it was shown.” If they can get two samples to back them then it's “Time and again.” And for three it's “time after time.”

I find it very sad that thinking people have to view ANY information released by any arm of the government as suspect in this day and time.
