The Wisconsin taxpayers should announce a business blitz week. Pledge to spend what you pay in taxes in any given month in local businesses if they stand by the taxpayers and recall the bums out.

Watch what happens.

These unions won’t last long without automatic dues collection. :)

What the unions have going is monkey business. It’s such a transparent coercion that it can’t help but generate a strong blowback.

Why can’t we have an anti-boycott across the USA for any internet business based in Wisconsin which bucks the unions?

Has anyone seen a link to these letters? I’d like to read it for myself and have not been able to find an online copy of one.

I think they should come up with a new marketing plan.

It could be....”Unions...doing jobs that organized crime refuses to do”.

If I received one of those letters my response would be: "Oh my g_d, I'm having such a bodily reaction that I can't control by vomiting, losing control of my bowel movements and can't sleep since I got this letter" and then file a cause of action against the bastards for Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress!

And I'm sure some creative and enterprising young Attorney out there will figure this one out and go for it.

I’m wondering how many family members the unions have, that work for some of these private companies that will be boycotted...

Borderline extortion.

I think it's way over that line and right inline for RICO action.

Lawyers might argue that the term extortion denotes exchange of money, but this only denotes threat of financial harm.
I know, weasel words, but lawyers and judges do that.
Look at imperious Judge Sumi who has no legal authority in the state of Wisconsin to do what she is doing.

It is about to get nasty there.

The decent people of Wisconsin are about to learn a lesson our Armed Forces had to learn when fighting the Japanese and Germans in WWII.

The lesson? If you are going to beat them, you have got to get nastier and meaner than they are. If they refuse or don't wish to heed that basic lesson, things will be very bad for them in the future.

Businesses need to put an 8-foot sign in the window that says,

NOTICE TO ALL UNION MEMBERS

IN RESPONSE TO CLANDESTINE THREATS OF MASS BOYCOTTS BY THE SEIU OR THE AFSCME, COUNCIL 24, OR ANY OTHER UNION OR ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATING IN SAID THREATS, THIS BUSINESS WILL NO LONGER KNOWINGLY PROVIDE PRODUCTS, GOODS, OR SERVICES WITH ANYONE AFFILIATED WITH SAID THREATENING ORGANIZATIONS OR UNIONS.

THIS RESPONSE AND RETALIATION FOR SAID THREATS AGAINST MY BUSINESS IS AN ENDANGERMENT TO MY LIVELIHOOD BY OFFENDING ORGANIZATIONS THE EXERCISING MY FREEDOM OF SPEECH, AND ASSOCIATION, POLITICAL, OR OTHERWISE IS TOTALLY JUSTIFIED.

I AM NOT AN AGENT, EMPLOYEE, OR REPRESENTATIVE OF THE LOCAL STATE, OR NATIONAL GOVERNMENT(S) AND WILL NOT SUPPORT OR ARGUE YOUR CASE AGAINST THEM FOR YOU. USE YOUR OWN LAWYERS AND RESOURCES. TRYING TO FORCE ME TO FIGHT YOUR BATTLE IS INVOLUNTARY SERVITUDE AND RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT.

THIS ACTION IS ALSO NECESSARY FOR THE PRESERVATION OF MY BUSINESS FOR THE ATTEMPTED RESTRICTIION OF MY RIGHTS OF FREE COMMERCE, ALSO AN ACTION TANTAMOUNT TO INVOLUNTARY SERVITUDE TO SAID ORGANIZATIONS.

ALL THREATS, PHYSICAL OR OTHERWISE WILL BE RESPONDED TO AND DEALT WITH BY THE POLICE AND OTHER AUTHORITIES, AND FULL CHARGES OF DOMESTIC TERRORISM, AND/OR TRESPASSING WILL BE BROUGHT AGAINST VIOLATORS.

FULL ALARM SYSTEM AND VIDEO SURVEILANCE ARE IN EFFECT 24 HOURS PER DAY TO BE USED AS EVIDENCE IF NEEDED.

NOTE: ALL OTHER CUSTOMERS WHO CAN PROVE THEY ARE NOT MEMBERS OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS WILL RECEIVE A 10% DISCOUNT ON ALL PURCHASES FOR THE DURATION OF THE PROPOSED BOYCOTT.

It’s a “protection racket” is what it is.

Because instead of threatening the business because they don’t pay protection money, they threaten the business because they don’t put a pro-union sign in their window.

It falls under RICO. The letters are threatening, anyone can see it by reading them what is threatened and what is implied by the writers.

My grandfather owned a small print shop in upstate NY during the late 40s, early 50s. My dad worked as his apprentice during his high school years, and was the only other employee.

One day my grandfather got a call from the Utica affirmative action group, asking why his print shop didn’t employ any blacks, and if my grandfather wanted the group to let the rest of the city know this by protesting on the sidewalk in front of his shop.

Having grown up in different times, and just back from a tour across the European theater of operations, my grandfather’s response was “What do you want me to do, fire my son so I can hire a *&#$@(2 ?!”

There was stunned silence on the other end of the line, then a click. He never heard from them again.

I think the same approach is needed with the WI unions. People need to get angry about this and tell the unions to go pound sand. I’m thinking editorials in the paper, or full-page ads from like-minded business owners. The unions need to be called out and ridiculed for this tactic.

Businesses need to put an 8-foot sign in the window that says,

NOTICE TO ALL UNION MEMBERS...etc...etc...
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Excellent idea etc, BUT you know the unions would then sue the storeowner for the same reason the unions should be sued.
Only difference is, the union has deep pockets etc..

That 10% discount for NON UNION members is great though.

Be more interesting to see how many union member would LIE to get the discount......

The difference between the entitlement of an Union member versus a welfare recipient,is that one actually works. The problem is that if he is publicly employed,he ends up costing quite possibly a bit more then the recipient.

Also they tend to have reasons to hide behind, “children” or “keeping the peace” or some other bs.That they might decide that this or that child is the wrong ethnicity or that they might go easy on some corporation that is buddy buddy with the local liberal representative..........well that is just how they are.

Also posted at the Journal-Sentinel. Interesting comments here, and you can see the trend - not only are the vast majority anti-thug, but the votes go in the same direction.

Here’s a thug response:

UnionNow - Mar 31, 2011 1:26 AM

12 Up, 153 Down

It’s about time you stupid business owners go broke!

Either you are smart and support your union workers, or you are stupid like Bobo and you will go broke for not. It’s that simple! I don’t want to participate is a non answer, taken as a no! Get used to it! This is the way things will be for now on! It’s about time you businesses paid up!!
