Shariatpur, Bangladesh (CNN) -- Hena Akhter's last words to her mother proclaimed her innocence. But it was too late to save the 14-year-old girl.
Her fellow villagers in Bangladesh's Shariatpur district had already passed harsh judgment on her. Guilty, they said, of having an affair with a married man. The imam from the local mosque ordered the fatwa, or religious ruling, and the punishment: 101 lashes delivered swiftly, deliberately in public.
Hena dropped after 70.
Bloodied and bruised, she was taken to hospital, where she died a week later.
Amazingly, an initial autopsy report cited no injuries and deemed her death a suicide. Hena's family insisted her body be exhumed. They wanted the world to know what really happened to their daughter.
Sharia: illegal but still practiced
Hena's family hailed from rural Shariatpur, crisscrossed by murky rivers that lend waters to rice paddies and lush vegetable fields.

Wherever islam goes, misery follows.
There are no exceptions to this rule.
And what was the punishment for the pedophile?
I still don’t understand how her parents stood by and watch this happen to their daughter. I’d die before I would allow that to happen to my dauther.
How do they supress their maternal and paternal instincts?
The muslim equivelant of a fist bump.
Where are the feminists and human rights activists? She was just a kid!
This is pretty brutal stuff. It is written in a way to make you feel like you were there.
As David Horowitz writes about in his book Unholy Alliance: liberalism and Islam have socialism and victim-ism (of Muslims mainly) as common ground agreement, but they differ on the sexual liberalism/liberation of females and homosexuals rather dramatically. Liberals would make taxpayers pay for her abortion, while Islamists(Bush called the religion of peace) would have her beaten to death.
Read the whole story:
“Many months later on a winter night, as Hena’s sister Alya told it, Hena was walking from her room to an outdoor toilet when Mahbub Khan gagged her with cloth, forced her behind nearby shrubbery and beat and raped her.
Hena struggled to escape, Alya told CNN. Mahbub Khan’s wife heard Hena’s muffled screams and when she found Hena with her husband, she dragged the teenage girl back to her hut, beat her and trampled her on the floor.
The next day, the village elders met to discuss the case at Mahbub Khan’s house, Alya said. The imam pronounced his fatwa. Khan and Hena were found guilty of an illicit relationship. Her punishment under sharia or Islamic law was 101 lashes; his 201.
Mahbub Khan managed to escape after the first few lashes.”
So the poor girl gets raped, then beaten by the pedophiles wife, accused of adultery, sentenced to 101 lashes, dies after 70 and then they say it was a suicide.
I cannot find to adjectives that would aptly describe the evil, lying, heinous, b*stards. I am totally beside myself with anger and disgust.
NOW will be releasing a statement shortly condemning this atrocity.../s
The imam from the local mosque ordered....
This cleared things right up
Please. Have some sensitivity to our moozlum friends and their advanced culture. Maybe they just haven’t been visited by a NASA representative to enlighten them about science...or something.
He’s not a pedo in that culture. He’s a victim of the girl.
muslims? You´ve got to be kidding.
Islam is the religion of a pig and Sharia the law of savages.
Guilty, they said, of having an affair with a married man.
Sharia law do anything to the man?.
You ever read about Sharia Law?
Yeah, sentenced him to 201 lashes. But darned if he didn’t manage to get away after only a few lashes.
I no longer attempt to discern between “good muslims” and “bad muslims”.
They all spring from the same poison-well created by a warmongering pedophile......
