Obama gets openness award in private

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama accepted an award for making the government more open and transparent - presented to him behind closed doors with no media coverage or public access allowed.

The discrepancy between the honor and the circumstances under which it was delivered bothered open-government advocates in attendance, they said Thursday. They were even more perturbed when they discovered later that the meeting hadn't even been listed on Obama's public schedule, so there was no way for anyone to know about it.

"To have such a meeting not be transparent is the height of irony. How absurd can that be?" said one participant, Gary Bass, executive director of OMB Watch, which keeps tabs on the White House Office of Management and Budget.

If one receives an award and there is nobody around to see it, did it make a sound

Someone gave Øbama an award for having an open and transparent government?

Well, next thing you know, they’ll open up a box of Cracker Jack and hand the Obozo a Nobel Peace Prize.

___________________________________________________

I imagine the sheer lunacy and hypocracy of this award embarrasses the hell out of the White House. But what can they do? If they turned it down, the news would leak out and embarrass them even more. If they invited the MSM to cover it, they would be the laughingstock of Leno and Letterman for days.

An award of an open and transparent government? Heh, heh. Must be a brain dead liberal. Or a smart and devious right wing group.

lolol

OK, I read the article. It was JOURNALISTS that gave the Usurper this award.

That answers my question. It WAS from brain dead liberals.

And - funnier still - they got no news from this made for the news event?

Ha ha ha ha!!!

This is terrible! I think everly news agency in the world ought to cover this. This is an OUTRAGE!! Why, everyone knows the Obama Regime is the most open and transparent in all the history of all they world.

Why, Obama ought to pre-empt prime time tonight in formally accepting this kind and gracious award. He deserves, it!

I think he and TOTUS could speak for an hour or so about how open and transparent they are. After all, JOURNALISTS have said so!

The irony is so thick it is ironic.

It's ironic that liberals don't get irony even when they engage in it. They need irony supplements in their diet.
