The United Nations has admitted that it lost at least $600,000 after it canceled its controversial rental of a comfortably appointed cruise ship for U.N. staffers in the early stages of rescue operations last year in earthquake-shattered Haiti. The world organization abruptly backed out of the deal after a Fox News exclusive analysis showed that the boat rental for the 11,000-ton ship called Ola Esmeralda, which cost $72,000 per day, was vastly overpriced compared to going commercial rates. Overall, the U.N. contracted to spend $13 million on rental of the Esmeralda, and another $3.6 million on a companion vessel, the Sea Voyagerwhich was known to U.N. staffers as the Love Boat.

And those "peacekeepers" then proceeded to start a cholera epidemic in Port Au Prince!
That “art” is a major disgrace!
When ‘leaders’ are spending OPM=Other People’s Money.....They truly don’t care what they spend or how efficiently they are spending it.
I would love to have Glenn Beck obtain a copy of the last USA budget & read a few pages every night. Such copies are available to the public, but someone who has a large audience like Beck needs to do a ‘Daily Budget Reading”.
The taxpayers need to know where their money is going.
That does it. When I retire, I’m getting a job as a UN peacekeeper. What are the qualifications? I think I’m qualified.
The UN and all its offshoots are probably as corrupt as any third world government could be. Luckily, we don’t have to worry - we have our own Very Corrupt Government now. As each day passes, we are finding out more and more about the Dem-Union Progressive Axis.
Which UN decision makers got the kickbacks from the ship owners?
Welcome UN junketeers! Bienvenidos! Wilkommen! I’m your captain, Captain tumblindice. Welcome to the good ship Edmund Fitzgerald!
You’ve all been assigned spaces in the cargo hold. We’ll be leaving shortly.
Ghost ship? Why, I don’t know what you mean. (uncoiling short whip)
Must be nice after a hard day of peace keeping to return to an AYCE buffet, drinking and gambling.
Careful! 'Rapist' was one of them if I remember.
Either someone was in the middle charging the UN the unreasonable price and paying the boat company. Or someone has an ownership or other strong tie to the boat company.
I believe the ship is a Venezuela owned vessel. Is there anything Chavez doesn’t have his fingers on? Corruption breeds corruption!
How much of that came out of my wallet?
Question is, how much will the interest payments cost you the rest of your life?
