Governor Neil Abercrombie has named attorney CheryL Kakazu Park to head of the stateOffice of Information Practices, replacing ousted director Cathy Takase.
Park is a 1981 graduate of the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii and has lived in Nevada since 1995, working as a Nevada Supreme Court staff attorney since 2003, according to Abercrombies office.
Park earned a Masters degree in business administration from UH and previously worked for American Express and Wells Fargo Insurance, the governors office said.
Takase was acting director at OIP when Abercrombie took office but the governor did not appoint her permanent director.
That decision came after Takase advised that the governor should publicly release a list of prospective state Supreme Court nominees received from the state Judicial Selection Commission.
Abercrombie has refused to release the list, which he used to appoint Family Court Judge Sabrina McKenna to the Hawaii Supreme Court.
The governor has maintained that he is under no legal obligation to disclose the names of the other candidates for the position.

I guess he could not find anyone in Hawaii for the job.
“Governor Seeks Revised Revenue Numbers
Wednesday, March 16th, 2011 in Today in Hawaii
BY JIM DOOLEY Concerned about spiking oil prices and dropping tourism, Gov. Neil Abercrombie has asked the state Council on Revenues to revisit its recently released forecast on expected tax revenues.
It would make more sense that given the “Won’s” ascent to messiahhood, tourist numbers in HI should have been on the rise, not decline. I mean, all those followers of the “WON” & his family to HI didn't raise the level of tourist revenue? Me thinks there are a lot more than the polls show who don't buy into the “Won’s” nativity since they can't even visit a marker where he was born.
Nothing to see there, save your money folks
What a joke the OIP is.
Office of Information Practices Website:
Aloha!
Thank you for visiting the
website of the Office of Information
Practices (”OIP”).
OIP administers Hawaii’s open
records law, the Uniform Information
Practices Act (Modified), chapter 92F,
Hawaii Revised Statutes (”UIPA”).
OIP also advises, and accepts complaints, regarding Part I of chapter 92, Hawaii Revised Statutes (open meetings or “Sunshine Law”).
What about his promise to resolve the birther issue once and for all? I’m still waiting...
He finally found someone who can keep a secret.
Yeah, Abercrombie found somebody who could keep a secret - and it’s the person who is supposed to be in charge of making sure that the government can’t keep any secrets.
Can these people do anything right?
If this OIP Director is at all like the HDOH Director Abercrombie came up with, the OIP will soon get rid of any e-mail address that the public can use to contact them, will not answer their phones, will require requests to be done through a web form and then pretend that they never got the request thinking you have no proof that you sent the request (which you won’t, unless you take a screen shot, which I have done - and they have still ignored the request for over 3 weeks now).
These people have been doing CYA for each other’s crimes so long they think they’re invincible.

We will not visit HI until the long form BC is made public.

You are probably right. The coverup continues.
If you are ashamed to stand by your colors, you had better seek another flag. ~Author Unknown
