Attorney General Eric Holder today will announce that self-proclaimed Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad will be tried in a military commission, CBS News has learned. A source says the commission will be held at the Guantanamo Bay prison. Trying Mohammed in a civilian court and closing the Guantanamo prison were once some of the Obama administration's top priorities, but political realities have hamstrung both goals.
Holder previously recommended that Mohammed and four other alleged Sept. 11 plotters be tried in New York City...

Amateur hour continues
They had to be brought kicking and screaming to do the right thing. Sheesh!
Another Bush foreign/military policy position substantiated by 0 who continues to show he was/is completely clueless — an his advisers too
Remains to be seen if the administration and the Justice Department will keep their paws off the military judicial system, or if they will interfere on behalf of their guy KSM.
Obama is an equal opportunity bastard.
He screws you guy more than he does us. LOL
Just another in a long list of betrayals from the Lib Messiah. LOL
Change their minds, eh? That wouldn’t have anything to do with it being ELECTION TIME, would it?
I agree with your positive take on this. But notice none of them are intellectually honest enough to admit the Bush administration was right all along. The radical, extreme BO people would and will sacrifice anything to get him elected, including the truth, and our country.
There should have never been a question that these guys should have been tried at Gitmo. It’s pathetic and amateurish of the “O” administration that they waited this long to announce this.
*psssst* Shhhhhh! Anyone had a peek over at DU? *snicker*
totally incoherent policy
and actually does not help reelection —unless its wrapped up REALLY fast since his base wants public trials...just not in the US -— which is also incoherent
he just wants it to go away!
Change their minds? First, they’d have to find them.
They’re in their diapers ;-)
Oh goodie! Need my daily, life-enhancing dose of schadenfreude.
Yep, Obama just wants it to go away as quickly and quietly as possible before election time. Total Alice in Wonderland.
It is delicious. Even the bluest of blue municipalities went apes***t when they were volunteered to hold terrorist trials or prisoners. Obama couldn’t bribe them enough.
Remember when Holder hit the microphones to beat his chest and say he was sure New Yorkers weren’t such cowards that they would be afraid to have KSM tried in their courthouse?
I wouldn’t put it past them to arrange KSM’s death by “natural causes” in his cell. However, Obama is too much of a wuss. Clinton did not suffer from such restraint. Remember Jim McDougal? When he went to prison, they took away his heart meds and he died. No fuss, no muss.
They stopped using diapers in January of 2007 and have been cr*pping all over everything since then.
Kiss those Broadway lights goodbye, Khalid!
True. Very true.
correct, this is strictly political.
Election year announcement.
Now, *this* is TRANSPARENCY.
Foxnews was saying there is a Congressional hearing tomorrow...over various items including Gitmo and the Shiek trial.
Done ond day before some Congressional Hearings....If in the Senate they will get canceled...if in the House ...they will get Highlighted.....anyone know where they were planned?
I don’t know about those hearings. I just know that he wanted this trial *out of the way* in campaign 2012.
The Marxist is desperate to win reelection. obamacare and the stacking of SCOTUS depends on his reelection.
We have got to deny him reelection in 2012....
At any and all costs. Our Republic cannot survive Obamacare and a stacked SCOTUS.
There will be no trial before the 2012 election, this is a campaign ploy, pure and simple.
