Giuliani stresses electability for 2012
gop12.thehill.com ^ | Monday, April 4, 2011 | thehill.com GOP12 Breaking News

On a weekend trip to the University of Arkansas, Rudy Giuliani talked about the possibility of running for president again.

"My concern about 2012 is -- because I'm a Republican -- to make sure that the Republican party fields a candidate that can win.

And if I think that I can help by being a candidate, then that would probably persuade me to do it, but if I can help supporting another candidate, then I'd probably do that."

And there's time to figure that out. The good thing about this election -- as opposed to four years ago -- is that it's happening very slowly, so it gives you a chance to think about it -- gives you a chance to get it down to a smaller period of time so people can focus more on the issues."

In a speech in Florida last month, Giuliani laid out further criteria for a run.

“If all we are faced with are candidates that are too far right so that they can’t win the general election, then that’s when I’d reconsider doing it."

I believe Reagan was as popular as Bachmann and Palin and low in the polls at this stage.

Independents like Bachmann as she is a tax attorney for the fair tax.

So there is hope.

Mmmmmmm......Rooty's running again? He must have quite a pile left from that "9/11 Foundation" he formed as NYC mayor, and put his mistress (now his wife) in charge of. The "foundation" collected millions---but nobody knows what they did with it.

Watching this guy Giuliani navigate the political process is like watching a horror film festival---Rooty's had more sequels than Bela Lugosi.

No matter how many stakes are driven into Rooty's presidential aspirations, the Rudester comes back from the dead, climbs out of his coffin with the same evil smirk, to wreak havoc on our political process again and again. Rooty's got the resilience of Count Dracula and the rap sheet of a calculating conman......not exactly star material for the White House.

==============================

THE ROOTY READING ROOM You can casually surf FR and come up with quotes, speeches, interview transcripts, video clips, photos, newspaper/magazine articles, reports, records, statistics, WRT to Rooty and NYC budgets, NYC spending, political appointments, gun grabs, connections to the gun control lobby, lawsuits against gun manufacturers, the truth about crime reduction in NYC, private property grabs, asset forfeitures, abuses of office, individual rights trampling, constitution trampling, violations of public trust, violations of the rule of law, national security risks, failures in security preparedness prior to and after 911.

Not to mention corruption, graft, bribes, favors, union dealings, mob dealings, business dealings leveraged through government contracts and contacts, rainmaking for his business partners, connections to US, Middle East or South American oil and energy companies and law firms that have profited and or will profit from Giuliani's government offices especially if he becomes president, war profiteering, his personal and business finances.

Then there's his train wreck of a private life and lack of character, lack of qualifications for high office, illegal alien NYC sanctuaries, welfare for illegals, pandering to illegals/illegal alien lobby, support for the abortion and gay rights lobbies, NARAL connections and participation, past and current support for McCain-Feingold, connections and dealings with liberal officeholders or the liberal/socialist caucuses/lobbies, etc, etc, etc, that you can find.

=====================================

For a man intent on moving into the White House, Rudy Giuliani carries a lot of baggage - but it’s his draft-dodging past that makes an interesting tidbit.

Asked about terrorism and the ME, Giuliani boasted, “It is something I understand better than anyone else running for president.” But it was draft deferments that kept Giuliani, 62, out of Vietnam while he attended law school.

He was granted a 2-A occupational deferment for his job as a law clerk in 1969 after his boss, the late Manhattan federal Judge Lloyd MacMahon, wrote a letter to the local draft board - a move criticized years later as rare and questionable.

Law clerks were not on the 1968 list of critical jobs that qualified for occupational deferments.

When the deferment expired in 1970, Giuliani became susceptible again - but lucked out with such a high draft number that it would have been unnecessary to attempt to continue his exemption. He was never called. —SNIP—

AND GET THIS ROOTY SPIN: “Giuliani was opposed to the war in Vietnam on “strategic and tactical” grounds......” his spokesman added, although she wouldn’t offer specifics.

Yeah, sure. NOW he's againt the war (that's why Rooty got a fishy occupational deferment).

Um...so a guy who couldn't get arrested during the 2008 primary is thinking about running again because he's worried about electability.

Before he could be elected he has to be nominated.

I still dont think the GOP base will nominate a guy who is voluntarily on his third wife ... whether his name is Rudy, Newt, or Donald.

>>>>>In the end I pray all unite behind someone that can beat Obama.

That can't be the only qualifier, however. If the GOP candidate is not a conservative who has a proven track record consistent with traditional constitutional policy positions, then its another prescription for failure.

RG is a good man in his own right.

But we don’t need someone who the RINO’s think “can win”, we need someone who will surround herself with like-minded stalwarts who understand what we’re about to lose forever. We need a president who aims to set things right and who doesn’t take prisoners.

Maybe Rudy can replace Holder or something.

A HUGE blot on Rooty is his association with convicted felon Bernie Kerik charged with several felonies, including tax evasion and conspiracy to commit wiretapping.

Once his driver----Rooty promoted Kerik to Police Commissioner. Rooty figured Kerik at DHS would be a boon to Rooty's global security businesses. Kerik was later nailed for lying on the WH form. Wonder who helped Kerik fill out the falsified form? Hmmmmm?

As one FReeper insightfully posted: "Dis auta be fun. Not only is Rooty a sock puppet for illegals, abortionists, homos, pukeneos, Rooty is a stoolie for da goodfellas."

Tick-tock, tick-tock.

The reason we lost in 2008 was because independents didn’t care for our middl-of-the-road guy.

The reason we won big in 2010 was because independents voted for rock-ribbed conservatives.

In 2012 we will be told that rock-ribbed conservatives are too far to the right for the delicate sensibilities of independents. Don’t believe it for a minute. We run a squishy moderate, we get shellacked.

He didn't go to Vietnam - so what? Bush didn't either. That's better than John Kerry and his anti-American activities and shenanigans during that time...and I don't see Rudy sucking up to the Saudi's:

Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Thursday the city would not accept a $10 million donation for disaster relief from Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal after the prince suggested U.S. policies in the Middle East contributed to the September 11 attacks.

"I entirely reject that statement," Giuliani said. "There is no moral equivalent for this [terrorist] act. There is no justification for it. The people who did it lost any right to ask for justification for it when they slaughtered 4,000 or 5,000 innocent people."

LOL! He may as well. All of the other politicians in the running for the oligarchy are like him, too.

Giuliani returned to the scene of the crime-----giving a speech in Florida last month (where in 2008 he came in a distant third after campaigning 63 says straight).

IS THAT A PROMISE OR A THREAT, ROOTY? Giuliani told Floridians, “If all we are faced with are candidates that are too far right so that they can’t win the general election, then that’s when I’d reconsider doing it."

Rooty's utterances sound like they're straight out of the Pukeneo's "We Hate Conservatives" Playbook.

The only position I would consider Rudy for would be Homeland Security.

President ? Nope.

This thread should be interesting.

All the pro-Rooty lib NOOBS are outing themselves and just begging for a ZOT like with that famous Bug Zapper thread in 08.

Scores of dead Rooty trolls littered the FR Server that day. It was .... beautiful.

Jim Rob has gone on record many times regarding his position about both Rudy and Mitt. But in case you missed it, I think he pretty much summed it up at post #21.

If the GOP can't come up with a better candidtate than either Rudy or Mitt in 2012, then they deserve to wander in the wilderness for 40 year. (unfortunately, the damage to the republic may be irreparable.)

The media spin loves pimping Obama and making any conservative Alinskized. Bachmann would pick a good VP
and could pull a Reagan. I just wish West would jump in.
