Giuliani stresses electability for 2012
gop12.thehill.com ^ | Monday, April 4, 2011 | thehill.com GOP12 Breaking News

Posted on 04/04/2011 10:39:35 AM PDT by Dubya-M-DeesWent2SyriaStupid!

On a weekend trip to the University of Arkansas, Rudy Giuliani talked about the possibility of running for president again.

"My concern about 2012 is -- because I'm a Republican -- to make sure that the Republican party fields a candidate that can win.

And if I think that I can help by being a candidate, then that would probably persuade me to do it, but if I can help supporting another candidate, then I'd probably do that."

And there's time to figure that out. The good thing about this election -- as opposed to four years ago -- is that it's happening very slowly, so it gives you a chance to think about it -- gives you a chance to get it down to a smaller period of time so people can focus more on the issues."

In a speech in Florida last month, Giuliani laid out further criteria for a run.

“If all we are faced with are candidates that are too far right so that they can’t win the general election, then that’s when I’d reconsider doing it."

If the GOP candidate is not favored by independents they will all then split off and vote for a Rand Paul.

As a voter who has been registered as "independent" (non-alligned) for 45 years, I am so thrilled that there are FReepers like Dubya-M-DeesWent2SyriaStupid! here to tell everyone how I'm going to vote.

Here's another Rooty Cutie (/snix): To suckup to the Liberal Party who helped him win the Mayoralty---Rooty appointed the Liberal Party Boss' sons to high-paying city jobs. Read on.

Liberal Party endorsement has been important to Giuliani’s political success...........The Liberal Party backed Rudy three times for mayor. And Rudy paid back the Liberal Party in spades----he was THAT appreciative.

(1) Mayor Rudy appointed Liberal Party Chairwoman Fran Reiter as Deputy Mayor. Rudy later gave her a $250K city job.

(2) Mayor Rudy gave the two sons of Liberal Party honcho Ray Harding top city jobs.

One Harding brother---Russel---stole the city blind, giving himself unauthorized salary raises, stealing electronic equipment, enjoying gay porn, internet child porn, and traveling with gay friends on the taxpayers' dime.

When Rudy was appraised of Russel's govt fraud, and that Russel was being prosecuted (he is now in jail), Rudy said he "felt bad" for the Harding family (gag).

Rudy never never deviated from the "I-Love-Liberals" drill and dared not utter a discouraging word about the depraved Russel, lest Rudy alienate big buck liberal donors and voters.

Remember voters, a look at Rudy's past is a glimpse into the future.

I doubt that Giuliani would do any better in 2012 than he did in 2008--for the same reasons.

Republicans seem to be comfortable with nominating men who have been married twice (Reagan, Dole, McCain), but not with men who have been married three times. (Trump has been married four times.)

If it came down to Giuliani or Trump, I'd go with Giuliani--Trump is too much of a loose cannon and I'm still ticked off at him for his trashing of George W. Bush. He isn't enough of a Republican to be on the Republican ticket--it would be worse than if McCain had insisted on Lieberman as VP in 2008. But it definitely won't come down to a choice between Giuliani and Trump.

Two other Republican Presidents were married twice but the second marriage occurred after the first wife died--Benjamin Harrison and Theodore Roosevelt. In Harrison's case the second marriage was after he left office.

Let’s welcome as many RINOs into the primaries as possible. They can split the RINO vote and allow a conservative to prevail. That is if conservatives are smart enough to back one good candidate and not split their own votes...

I don’t care how many times someone has married. I don’t care how many illigitimate kids they have.

I care that they can defeat the “Won.”

Haven't even read this but I can guess. Sarah isn't electable. You know what? I just don't damn care! If I have to finish out my life with the one last real 'hope' for some real change it is her, period.

If she doesn't win, then we are lost because the rest of the remotely possible slate of candidates, save Bachmann who'd be a great VP, are ball-less equivocators or plain out kooks in my opinion.

Otherwise, I will not vote again. No more McLames, no more settling.

He didn't go to Vietnam - so what? Bush didn't either.

ANG pilots served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970 through a volunteer program called "Palace Alert."
Palace Alert was an Air Force program that sent qualified F-102 pilots from the ANG to bases in Europe or southeast Asia for three to six months of frontline service.
This program was instituted because the Air Force lacked sufficient pilots of its own for duty in Vietnam but was unable to activate ANG units since Presidents Johnson and Nixon had decided not to do so for political reasons.
Thanks to Palace Alert, the Air Force was able to transfer much-needed National Guard pilots to Vietnam on a voluntary basis while not actually calling up their squadrons.

Fred Bradley, a friend of Bush's who was also serving in the Texas ANG, reported that he and Bush inquired about participating in Palace Alert.
However, the two were told by their flight instructor, Maj. Maurice Udell, that they were not yet qualified since they were still in training and did not have the 500 hours of flight experience required.
Furthermore, ANG veteran Col. William Campenni, who was a fellow pilot in the 111th FIS at the time, told the Washington Times that Palace Alert had stopped accepting new applicants before Bush would have been eligible.

Rooty's a complete ignoramus on the Constitution.

2008 Candidate Guliani---a registered gun-grabber---said he supports the Sec/Amend but believes gun laws should be addressed "by the states."

Guiliani, a lawyer, doesn't know there's a thing called the "Supremacy Clause" in the US Constitution? Means the 2nd Amendment is the same for all 50 States (and territories). Not what some politican in Albany, Sacramento, or New York City - says it is.

GIULIANI TO WOO NRA (gun-grabber tells NRA he's "changed")

EXCERPT Mayor Rudy Giuliani was an ardent gun-control advocate. He backed the federal assault-weapons ban in 1994 over the objections of the NRA, but has changed his position as a 2008 presidential candidate. He now says he supports the Second Amendment and believes gun laws should be addressed by the states. SOURCE http://www.nypost.com/seven/09182007/news/nationalnews/giuliani_to_woo_nra.htm

Giuliani very publicly, for maximum PR impact, ripped up a huge Saudi check made on behalf of victims of 9/11------making people think he was highly offended.

Later, on the sly, Giuliani accepted huge Saudi checks made out to his consulting business, "Giuliani Partners.”

The original $10 million Saudi check was made out to the "Twin Towers Fund"------- Rudy's tax-exempt charity headed by his then-mistress Judith Nathan. Rudy appointed Arnold Schwarzenegger to the Board of Directors.

THIS IS COMICAL Giulaini kept referring to Nathan as a "philanthropist." Arnie used the tax-exempt "Twin Towers Fund" to help him launch his profit-making movie, "Collateral Damage," with Rudy and his entourage joining in on the gala premiere event.

THE GOP better wake up to ending vote laws that enact fraud that Obama put in place.

NO ID REQUIRED TO VOTE (NOT JUST STUDENTS WHEN I VOTED IN NOV. I DID NOT HAVE TO SHOW ID AND I AM NOT A STUDENT!)

“...We need Reagan!...”

Reagan’s gone. We were lucky to have ONE like him in one lifetime.

Not a fan of Rudy either - at all - but what do you propose if that’s the choice we’re faced with - FuBO or Rudy?

In the event that happens, I think the show stopper is getting control of the Senate and the House, with the aim of limiting (or deadballing) any damage or mischeif he tries to do from the White House.

We’re living in some strange f**ing times, gentlemen, and I think we need to take whatever opportunity we can to remove the FuBO from the White House, sanitize and fumigate it, and start geting our people in place.

Rudy may not be “our” people, but he is a damn sight better than the marxist POS we have now.

Just my two cents.

For the record, I would rather see Sarah run for it, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.
