Report: Petraeus 'seriously considered' for CIA director By Jordan Fabian - 04/05/11 09:34 AM ET
Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of allied forces in Afghanistan, is under consideration to become the next CIA director, according to a report.
NPR reported Monday evening that several insiders say that Petraeus is being "seriously" considered for the key intelligence post.
Under the proposed plan, CIA Director Leon Panetta could also move over to the Pentagon to serve as the next Defense secretary.
He would replace Robert Gates, who wants to step down at the end of the year after serving in the Bush and Obama administrations.
The speculation comes amid rumors of a looming shakeup among senior U.S. defense officials.
I meant, “not serious”. Petraeus should get us out of Afghanistan ASAP - not one American should lose a hair over these awful, crazy Moslems.

Agreed. Unless we are hunting al Qaeda or other Islamic scum capable of directly threatening America, we should be out of the Middle East, but with a clear message that we will return with a vengeance at the least provocation.
Since 9-11, I think the world has been educated that the United States does not solely consist of self-hating liberals, narcissistic fops, and anti-American pussies.
However, with the racist, America-hating Kenyan Commie as CIC however, I feel the message will have to be repeated, and soon.
Am I imagining things here? Wasn’t it just a short time ago that Gen. Petraeus was a hero on “FR”? All of a sudden, he’s a villain! Frankly, I wouldn’t mind seeing him as the Def. Secretary. However, the way people on here have been trashing him lately, I don’t know...
Does anyone around here know how the people serving under him feel about him? I wonder.. I always thought he was well regarded on here until recently, when Freepers all over the place are bad-mouthing him!
