Family of Minnesota Man With Mental Disabilities Says He Is a Victim of Voter Fraud
Fox News ^ | April 5, 2011 | Eric Shawn

EXCLUSIVE: Minnesota resident Jim Stene voted last November -- and thought he was casting his ballot for President Gerald Ford.

"He was exploited, plain and simple. He was exploited," his father, Alan Stene, charges. "This is a moral and ethical issue."

Jim Stene, 35, suffers from anoxic encephalopathy, severe brain damage caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain. He has lived with the condition since 1987, when, as a 12-year-old boy, he jumped into a river to save the life of his drowning sister, Heather.

Stene had spent the last 15 years living in a group home in Brainerd, Minn. He and other residents of the home were taken to the Crow Wing County auditor's office on Oct. 29 to vote by absentee ballot. Minnesota is among the states that offer early voting by absentee ballot days before Election Day.

In an affidavit, Stene's father charges that "a voter crime was committed ... because James is mentally incompetent and is very coachable."

He fears his son, and others like him across the country, could be used to swing elections.

"They are a forgotten member of our society, I think, to where people can exploit them because nobody really knows what goes on behind the scenes," Alan Stene said.

"I felt that he was used as a pawn."

Fox News met Stene at a private residence, with his sister beside him, and asked him about voting. While his words came slowly, he clearly understood the conversation, smiling and trying to do his best to answer. When asked who he voted for, he answered quietly, "Ford." Gerald Ford? Stene nodded in the affirmative.

He was unable to name the candidates or any current elected officials, and he said a worker at the group home where he lived told him for...

This certainly explains the mystery of how Al Franken got elected. The Dims rounded up every last mental deficient, took them to the polls and told them who to vote for. Combined with the illegals who voted, it was enough to barely put Franken over the top.

The Dems are going to use every trick in the book, Google Dead voters.

Example:

Board of Elections lists them as eligible voters. Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers — including movie stars Lena Horne and Natasha Richardson and beloved restaurateur Elaine Kaufman — are also on the voting rolls long after they died

This happens here in western Pennsylvania by the bus load. A local democrap operative works at a mental hospital and buses the patients to the polls. Also nursing homes do this. Life long Republicans start voting Rat with the help of the union staff.

I think of it as voter fraud but it’s very out in the open and I’ve never heard of anyone being prosecuted for it.

Franken was elected by only 312 votes, so this explanation is more than plausible.

I doubt this is an isolated incident... nursing homes are rife with similar fraud.

Secretary of state elections or appointments are among the most important choices these days. Fortunately we elected a woman in Michigan who has taste for the blood of fraudsters.

My own grandfather, dead since 1950, was also on the voting rolls when Hillary ran for the Senate. (I guess, TECHNICALLY, he IS still a resident of Queens...he just resides in a “basement apartment” six feet under.)

I’ve seen it happen in Florida (in the Presidential elections) with buses from black churches and unions bringing residents of a nearby large state institution for mentally handicapped people. And I’ve seen it happen in California, with a union “community activist” rolling up in a bus to unload and “help” a large group of elderly, non-English speaking Chinese women who lived in a Chinatown senior citizens residence.

The Dems do this all over the country, and they’ve been doing it for decades. And no, they’re never challenged on it.

Election fraud...IMHO..its THE ONLY way Dems get elected in most districts in a country that is predominantly “right” leaning. Its how Red states wind up with Blue Federal representation.

If this article is correct...its massive...and may even involve th ejudiciary.

.this business of “election fraud” is anything but trivial. Its not 400, 4000, or even 40 THOUSAND votes...try 400,0000.....

http://dailycaller.com/2011/01/12/acorn-leader-avoids-prison-for-voter-fraud-conspiracy/

Its the fraud. And its “bipartisan” -to the extent the oligarchs think it works for them. And if We the People haven’t dealt with it by then...a whole bunch of us Freepers will be sitting around the day after elections wondering just what happened

During college I worked part time at a home for adult mentally retarded. The administrator and head staff members, all flaming liberals, did coach anyone able to go through the routine of voting and take them to the polls. If they could contrive any reason to claim someone needed assistance in the voting booth they entered the booth and in effect cast the votes.

This is not a civil rights issue, we don't let small children vote either. The idea that reaching a certain physical age is qualification as a voter is ridiculous.

The logical way to solve this is with a literacy test before registration but wave this thought in a liberals face and they'll throw a screaming fit.

The young man in the article risked his own life to save his sister and paid a terrible price. God Bless him!! Greater love hath no man...

It seems to me the least we can do is to ensure any vote he chooses to cast is the one he wants. That anyone would take advantage of this American hero is beyond sick.

I sure wish people would remember about this crap going on all over the country the next time they sanctimoniously preach (as do WAY TOO MANY FREEPERS) about how stupid and hopeless Americans are because, after all, "they elected Obama."

No, FRAUD "elected" Obama, as it very likely "elected" about 70 percent of all Liberals in Congress.

Say it loud, say it often, and REMEMBER IT: Liberals are the minority. It's why they have to cheat to win, and why, if you believe that "more than half of the American electorate voted for this clown Obama" and therefore hold your fellow Americans in contempt, you are being successfully manipulated by Liberals, the MSM, and the Hollywood entertainment culture.

Moral of the story: HAVE MORE FAITH AND CONFIDENCE IN YOUR FELLOW AMERICANS and stop accusing them of something of which they are innocent.

This happens all of the time. In nursing homes the staff fills out the absentee ballot for the ones who have no mind left. I used to watch a woman at the polls bring her 40 yo Downs Syndrome son in and help him vote. They are not voting for themselves because they don’t really undestand a thing they are voting for it is the person who is wih them getting two votes legally.

You sound like a democrat, that is misplaced compassion.

We have far too many people voting who have the mental capacity of a rutabaga.

Universal suffrage is the mistake which will finally destroy this Nation, just as it has destroyed EVERY other democracy in recorded history.

The vote is too important to be treated lightly. If someone can't pass a comprehensive literacy test they shold not have a vote. This would likely disqualify half of last year's high school graduates but I don't really give a Damn, we are being voted to destruction by idiots.

Yep, the rumor here is if they voted for the Democrat candidate they would get another $500 stimulus pay-out like under Bush, and they never got it.

I certainly see your point, swampsniper. But here’s something else to consider:
1. Who writes the literacy test?
2. Who administers it?
3. Who monitors and stores the results?
4. Isn’t this going to create a whole new bureaucracy?

BTW, I’m no democrat.

Let me see: the person is where they are because someone else now has the legal right to make the legal decision that they must live where they live, but they somehow have the mental capacity to vote. No.

If they do not have the legal right to live independently on their own, because the law has determined they lack the mental capacity to do so, they cannot be said to have the intellectual capacity to vote on larger decisions in life affecting everyone.

Asking them to vote and taking them to vote is nothing other than exploitation advancing mythical non-existent “rights” of the mentally incompetent.

while we have both guardianship and conservator ship of our adult child, many parents choose not to go that way. Some people who are unable to live independently do really have the ability to make their own decisions. While there are many individuals with mental retardation who are capable of doing something like voting, I really don’t see any problem with taking it away from someone who really doesn’t know or care what the whole thing is about, like my child.
