Live thread: Wisconsin Supreme Court election - Prosser vs Kloppenburg

This election is important nationally too. If Kloppenburg is elected the Wisconsin mandate by the electorate in 2010 in this state will be negated by the WI Supreme Court and the unions will have won.

I live in a hardcore conservative area and discovered today that my Prosser yardsign was mutilated and thrown into one of my plantings.

Pray for Wisconsin and for Prosser's election!

If you end up having to pay this bet, I will buy you a beer.

Or ten.

There’s still just under 1/2 hour left to vote, any WI conservatives who haven’t, for God’s sake, get out and vote!

“...you may start seeing some R’s turning into RINOs out of fear of the unions.”

I think those R’s in question should be more afraid of fiscal conservatives.

Correct. If Prosser loses, the Walker reforms will be voided by the Supreme Court. Period. This will be an exercise of raw power, and they will invent any ridiculous legal rationale they damn well please.

I cannot fathom why so many freepers are being naïve about this.
The national ramifications of a Prosser loss are horrendous.

Hey that’s encouraging...low turnout may mean the standard SEIU “cigarettes for votes” campaign isn’t working too well.

They have the most bags of fake votes to put in in case Kloppenburger is losing.

How was turnout, and are you in a liberal or conservative area?

Milwaukee county turnout will be higher because of the county exec race. Suburbs are heavy conservative. Can easily negate the inner city. And then go and negate some of Madistan. Waukesha county needs to have heavy turnout.

If Kloppenburg wins, Wisconsin can kiss budgetary reform, concealed carry, and voter ID away. Moochers everywhere will run to the activist Supreme Court to have them all declared unconstitutional.

Doesn’t matter lower judges will just delay cases as they control timetables for hearing them. That’s what Sumi is doing now.

Kloppenberg put up these flyers all over saying she would be a sure vote against the bill:

Is that ethical?

She should have to recuse herself if she wins.

I'm not being expressly naïve, but I am 2000 miles away, and not a WI citizen. I will watch the results with interest, and pray for the republic. I live in a right to work state. I admired Reagan's view of PATCO. Government unions? Socialist parasites. Fire them all.

Thing is when this is law the state won’t take their union dues out of their paychecks anymore. It will be up to them whether they want to be in the union, or pay dues.

As most liberals and most teachers are cheap people, as exhibited by what they are bitching about, I would bet most will not pay union dues or even bother to be in the union anymore.

Which is why the unions are freaked by it.

Note this is only for public sector unions.

I really hope our man wins too, but if not, I see a big silver lining.

Let the big union states continue to screw themselves with massive budget deficits and higher taxes. Companies from those states will move to places like Georgia, which has low taxes and is a right to work state.
