Trump, Not as a 2012 Candidate,but as a Blueprint
Creators.com ^ | April 8, 2011 | David Limbaugh

Posted on 04/08/2011 2:34:35 AM PDT by Scanian

My brother, Rush, said on his program Thursday that Donald Trump, in taking the fight directly to President Obama, has provided a winning blueprint for defeating him in 2012.

Rush was referring to the way in which Trump — think what you will about him and his politics — has boldly challenged President Obama on a number of issues, including the notorious birth certificate fracas, obviously unconcerned about fallout from the liberal media.

The issue here is not Obama's birth certificate; it is Trump's aggressive, offensive posture in challenging Obama across the board. He rightly recognizes that America's financial condition is in shambles and contends that Obama's incoherent approach to foreign policy is making the U.S. a laughingstock in the international community.

Trump is not my candidate for a number of reasons, including that I don't believe he's been reliably conservative over the years, but I have no doubt that Republicans can learn great lessons from his direct, fearless approach.

The first application of the Trump blueprint should be the congressional Republicans' approach to the budget war, in both the short-term battles over the umpteenth continuing resolution and the battle over Rep. Paul Ryan's long-term budget proposal.

Too many Republicans have paralyzed themselves with fear about the potential negative fallout from a government shutdown over this year's budget. They believe Bill Clinton successfully pinned the blame on Newt Gingrich over the shutdowns of 1995 and 1996 and greatly damaged GOP electoral prospects as a result. They believe the liberal media will be able to crucify Republicans.

Let me tell you — in a nutshell — why I believe Republicans must not succumb to their fear and compromise on the $61 billion and why my conservative colleagues should not be squeamish about this path.

When I think about what a pansy-a^# campaign McCain ran against Obummer in 2008 it makes me sick. I hope we run a strong, tackle Obama on his record (there’s a ton there to attack)campaign. My daughter said that she was very impressed with how Trump spoke on Fox news last week (Hannity?) and she thinks he has the “skills set” and business smarts to make a good run. I am not yet sold on “THE DONALD” but one thing is for CERTAIN - atleast he is PRO PRIVATE ENTERPRISE and that is what America needs...our businesses have been ravaged by this administration’s socialist policies.

What ever he is up to, I don’t see how conservatives can complain about the way he is bringing Zer0 back under scrutiny.

His detractors have nothing to use but cheap insults and ridicule.

The guy is apparently rich enough to be completely fearless.

I understand it. I am so poor that I am utterly fearless. Nothing to lose.

Strangely, it works about the same way. Which is why I find Donald relatable.

Good article....however I think Trump is truly a legitimate candidate...and the GOP better hope he does not run as an Independent.

David Limbaugh is correct that the GOP needs to stop acting like wussies in regard to Obama. However, that includes going after Obama on the Eligibility issue. When even Marco Rubio and Allen West are cut-and-run and supporting Obama on the Eligibility issue....2012 will be a bad year for the GOP.

One thing Trump is also raising....which the GOP better correct course on....is slapping tariffs on Communist China. The Birther issue has taken this Trump issue off the ledger for now....but Trump also has pushed for tariffs on Communist China....something that we need to do....but the GOP (with the Democrats) are still going Communist on the Free Trade issue. Free Trade with Communist China is killing this country....and the GOP will be the third party in 2012 if an independent runs raising the Free Trade Communist issue.

Its time to get into the 21st Century and stop pushing the failed Free Trade Communist Globalist agenda. Supporting Communism and Obama is no way for the GOP to win in 2012

Along the lines of what I’ve been thinking for a while. Broad Front Strategy. Bring out a large field of Republican candidates that will all attack the Dems and Obama. See which one has the best luck breaking through the media’s defensive line, and then nominate them. I’ve never been a Trump fan, but I give it to the guy for taking the fight to the enemy.

Marco and Allen support Obama on eligibility?

How did I miss that? Do you have a link?

One problem is that these people who blow off the issue rarely take the time to THOROUGHLY investigate it. They would prefer to take the opinion of some swell-headed so-called intellectual like George Will and run with it.

But I have never, ever known anybody who truly looked into it who didn’t become extremely suspicious about Zer0’s origins.

Let’s give Paul Ryan some credit too. After the Dems succeeded in getting the budget issue down to “either 60 or 30 billion” Ryan came through with his 6 trillion over ten years budget and broke the game open.

I give Ryan all the credit in the world. A very smart young man. I’ll never forget the way he made Zer0 moan and frown at that healthcare taffy pull in Baltimore. 0 knew he’d met his match.

I only wish Paul would hack more.

Rand Paul’s $500 billion would be a start.

Rubio is a known racist with ties to radical Latino racial organizations including La Raza.

I don't know Alan West's motivations for supporting the Usurper, but either way you cut it, he is a traitor to his oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

Had Trump put his money where his mouth is, the TEA party could have had more candidates elected in 2010. I’m not buying any epiphany on his part.

David's exactly right. I'm skeptical about Trump, but he is showing the best way to defeat Dumbo in 2012. You have to hit him on all these issues and to hell with what the MSM tries to do to you. Along with the birther issue, Trump is bringing up the China trade issue, Iranian nukes and energy independence. These issues are overshadowed by the eligibility issue, proving that Obama's lemmings can only attack on one front at a time.

Whoever the nominee is needs to follow this strategy of keeping Hussein on defense. He really has no record to point to.

Rush is right, again. Any conservative is cheering the Donald on right now, but that doesn't make him the best POTUS candidate. But he is providing the 'BluePrint' to the right candidate, and Congress, for how to wage this campaign.

That said, I've seen enough to put Donald ahead of Romney and Huckabee for POTUS. Low bar, I know.

There are some Republicans who never liked the Tea Party. Felt threatened by it. And now that Trump has taken them under his wing admitting to be a Tea Party himself it only threatens those ani-tea party republicans even more. You know, the establishment. So, those republicans do not like what they see with Trump holding the number two place among the Tea Party and number one among Constitutionalists.

What’s the hurry anyway? There won’t be any primaries for, what, 8 months?

IMHO, they should all have a chance to make their best case and then show up ready to go when the debates start.

I do agree with the L. bros. that Trump’s aggression should be emulated by the others.

Obama looks fairly weak-—IF he is hit hard and constantly exposed.

Those RINOs (establishment GOP) need to fish or cut bait.

If the stuff the tea party does (or Trump for that matter) bothers them so much, maybe they ought to just drag their ass over to the other side of the aisle.

They break their backs reaching over there all the time anyway.

So hit the road, RINOs. You are obsolete.
