One-half of one percent is a ridiculous "cut." It's like taking a scoop of dressing off the table at a Thanksgiving feast. It's a joke even to negotiate seriously over such a minuscule amount. It makes a mockery of conservative demands.

I have no hope Republicans are going to grow a pair on this. Been disappointed too many times. Might as well have Trent Lott in there "negotiating."
