An analogy of what happened tonight:

You currently owe $144,000 to the bank.

You make $18,000 a year. You usually spend $36,000 a year. This year though, you’re only going to spend $35,600.

So, instead of your debt going up $18,000 this year, it will only go up $17,600.

So now you’ll only owe $161,600 to the bank at the end of the year, rather then $162,000, all because you cut a deal and reduced spending :)

Great job RINOS!!!!!!!!!!!!

“the GOP goal was to make a downpayment on spending cuts and fiscal responsibility in FY2011.”

You have got to be joking? They cut less than 2% of the yearly deficit. Not 2% in spending, 2% of the deficit.

The RINOs just have no idea what kind of fiscal shape this country is in. Even Paul Ryan’s budget, if fully enacted, will not get us out of this mess.

Of course the numbers are small relative to the overall task, but this is cleaning up a mess the Democrats left because they didnt pass their budget last year. Until you go afer entitlements, 80% of the budget is ‘baked in’. This cut is $70b off Obama’s proposal, and was all taken out of domestic discretionary, which is about $800b or so, so on that it was more like a 5% real cut or 10% off Obama’s proposal in that category.

Not big, but there is no denying its a different direction from every single budget that Pelosi passed since 2007, which EVERY YEAR had double digit increases.

Yes, we have to do a LOT more, but again, this is a start.

The politicians quibble over chump change; they really aren’t serious about getting a handle on the their insane $pending $pree.

Of course their not...This is government game show, a concocted rehearsed play for an audience of applauding fools...

Some here can't grasp the fact these government hacks are all riding in the same limo.

The dems get thier way yet agian I see and the GOP stands crying while I shake my head at the fools who elect both parties of liberal politicians who steal and rob Americans daily.
It makes me hang my head in shame that conservatives continue to believe they can clean up the existing cesspool of DC instead of forging a a third party conservative. Remember what Jesus said about new wine in old wineskins bursting? The GOP is old wineskins and needs to join their communist democrat buds but conservatives need to elect conservative politicians who hate the leftsist rino and democrat parties lest the good wine fall down on the ground.

You are right, but the Republican primary voters cannot understand.
