Do you really think that once the government was shut down, that Obama would have any incentive to reopen it, as opposed to restructuring it by emergency powers?

ULtimately, they would have had to give in. The people are behind this...and showed it convincingly in 2010. We need to continue to force them to show their colors so that in 2012 the momentum builds even more.

The Emergency Powers are alredy there...and sadly, a large part of the government already operates under their mantle.

But funding is still in the hands of congress and it is one of the few places we can hurt them and force the issue.

FOODSTAMPS WERE GOING TO CONTINUE TO BE SENT BUT TROOPS WERENT BEING PAID.

That is bogus. The Democrats wanted a shutdown to pin around the Republicans. They WANTED a crisis. that gives the President more power.
