Not quite, Dick. The "promise" was $100 billion off Obama's unpassed 2011 proposed budget. Boehner got $78.5 billion off through the continuing resolutions.
He also got Reid to put Obamacare up for a Senate vote along with the issue of Planned Parenthood funding.
It's not a perfect victory but it's a win. Obama lost all the spending hikes he want and had to accept actual cuts, not just reductions in increase but cuts.
Now is NOT the time to toss Boehner under the bus.
Boehner, Bachmann, DeMint, Ryan and others need our support on the debt limit and 2012 budget battle where the deeper cuts can be made.
This was all about cleaning up the mess Ms. Pelosi left. She wasn't even in D.C. last night! She flew to Boston to speak about her "historic time" as Speaker.
