It's No Deal, It's a Sellout

John Boehner has just given away the Republican victory of 2010 at the bargaining table. Having failed to stand firm for just $61 billion in a budget of $3.7 trillion, how can we expect him to stand firm over the debt limit extension or the 2012 budget? We can't. The excellent budget proposals of Paul Ryan are no more than a pipe dream now. It violates our campaign promises to the American people. We promised $100 billion of cuts and we delivered $38 billion. Obamacare will not be defunded; welfare spending will not be cut nor work requirements imposed; the FCC will not be stopped from regulating talk radio; Medicaid will not be block granted and turned over to the states. We've accomplished nothing but we've learned a lesson: We need to to purify our party and purge it of the likes of Boehner. The Tea Party must take the lead and we must not let the RINOs win!

This is just a continuing resolution funding the Govt temporally. This is not the annual budget. Right? There was no budget passed in 2010 for 2011 so CR’s for a few weeks at a time are the way the govt is being funded. The 2012 budget formed in 2011 will be the big fight.

What, by this action, was done with the Federal budget:
.
A family with income of $26,000 a year is spending $38,000. (Add eight zeroes to each of those figures and you have the federal budget.)
.
The so-called “man of the house” tells his family, “We can’t go on like this. Our credit cards are near their limit, and soon we won’t even be able to pay the interest on them. We need to spend less, so let’s cut spending this year by $630 to $37,370”
.
After a few days of conflict at home, he can’t bear the pressure. He goes back to his family and sheepishly tells them he will be satisfied if they cut spending by only $390, and that he will accept the family spending $37,610.
.
Why should we have any confidence Republican leaders will have the courage to address the remaining $11,600 in my example (multiplied by 100 million in the federal budget) when they can’t hold out even a weekend over a lousy $240 that won’t even begin to address the problem?
.
I’m thoroughly disgusted with not just them, but my supposedly conservative Congressman that voted them into positions of leadership. Why give majorities to Republicans when the allow Democrats to dictate the agenda and the results on any issue of consequence?

Boehner and the OP(formerly the GOP) sold the Constitution as they have done for decades. This time they did not address the root cause of the problem. The root cause is due to Congress expanding their powers far beyond the enumerated powers granted to Congress in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution. Violating Article 1 Section 8 has created not only an Unconstitutional government but one so large it has become cost prohibitive.

The only way to reduce federal spending is by eliminating all federal agencies not in compliance with any of the enumerated powers in Article 1 Section 8. Doing so will dramatically reduce the size of government along with the associated costs. Any budget proposal that does not address this issue is nothing more than smoke and mirrors!

Yep really sad. But true. And Trump is the only one fighting Obama. The Republicans we fought for spend the day praising Obama and appeasing the MSM. Oh well I am going back to being just another Libertarian Kook. The effort to elect them does not appear to be worth it.

All I can say is that I'm just a libertarian/conservative (I have elements of both) Pennsylvania who clings to God and guns and I'm not quite a happy camper. Yes, there were cuts there but it is like trying to bail water out a sinking ship with a coffee cup. So far, I like Trump the best, he is the only one who is willing to get down and dirty. Obama is a street fighter, like a gang leader if you will, to fight a street fighter, you need another street fighter and so far Trump seem to be the one to do it.

I agree with that. The Ryan plans are the only comprehensive and serious proposals on the table. They also deal with entitlements like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security which will go broke if not reformed. The proposals may not be perfect and will be debated but AT LEAST someone has seriously addressed the real problems. Meanwhile, Obama and most Democrats are reduced to being critics with no viable proposals of their own and only defenders of a failed and bankrupt welfare system.

It really aggrivates me seeing them praise the Prick. They have not even fought back against the vile slander of the Tea Party that got them elected. They are not Worthy.

Right - and one of the big battles ahead is whether or not to raise the debt ceiling.

The Rats only want to Tax. More Taxes is their game and more Loot to split up. They will continue until they either take every last Penny of private property or they are stamped out.

Exactly - that amount is like a thimble full of fresh water in the ocean. But at least it’s a tiny step in the right direction. Or is it meaningless? You decide!

A complete sellout.

And a completely worthless “cut.”

How much did Bush spend to fight AIDS in Africa? Somewhere around this cut.

The country is facing the death of its currency and the GOP dickers over a few billion dollars.

They should be using incrementalism — favorite tactic of the Left — to hack away at our deficit spending and to pay down our debt.

They should be talking about hundreds of billions for this first round of cuts.

Then, once they win that, it should be another several hundred billion. On and on until we cut the hell out of not just federal spending, but the entire federal government as the Leviathan it has become.

I know what you mean but let’s not be too quick to shoot the messenger. Morris can READ PEOPLE and is a genius at discerning public opinion. Just ask Bill Clinton.

So if Boehner had gotten the $61 billion in cuts instead of $38, so-the-hell-what?!

Freepers are crying because he got 1% instead of an ultra-conservative Tea Party approved 2%?

No one is remarking on the fact that the POS CIC held our military as pawns.

Despicable for ANY politician - but for the CIC?

Our soldiers are NOT ‘nonessential personnel’. How the HELL did he get away with that?

Another part of this equation: Yesterday, BEFORE it was known in there would a shut down, our soldiers got a notice regarding their next paycheck due: They were warned that they wouldn't get paid for the 9th-15th of April!

I can tell you that the looming probability of their pay checks stopping weighed heavy on them, especially the ones deployed. They were worried about their spouses and children back home: Mortgage, food, bills.

In addition, our soldiers would be required to show up for duty every day - while not getting paid.

HOW COULD A CIC DO THIS?

However, the REAL nonessential personnel, would NOT be expected to work - AND were to get unemployment!

Now, answer me this: This cut off of soldiers pay was already all set up - before it was even known if there’d be a shut down.

Name me one other time the gov’t has gotten ANYthing done on time? Even this budget fight was over a budget that was, by law, supposed to’ve been passed last year! (And they admit they didn't do it last year because of things that would come to light that would cost a lot of them reelection! So they were able to get away with ignoring the law on passing an annual budget without repercussions - and...

Well, I'm still to angry and disgusted to write all I'm thinking...

Except one more note: Chucky Shooomah likened the Tea Party to nothing but a flea on the tail of a dog - the tail being the Republican Party - and the dog being the gov’t - i.e., HIM and crew.

When are we going to educate these ‘enemies domestic’ that they are there as ‘representatives’ to carry out the will of WE THE PEOPLE - they are NOT there as RULERS.

Freepers are crying because he got 1% instead of an ultra-conservative Tea Party approved 2%?

Real conservatives are pissed because:

Obamacare marches on
Planned Parenthood abortion mills march on
EPA regulatory tyranny marches on
NPR marches on

Etc.

What rock have you been under?

That’s no joke. Let me tell a personal story. Many years ago I met an old woman who emigrated here from Germany and the Weimar Republic in the 1920’s. She told me (still with emotion) how the paper currency had become worthless due to inflation and that to feed oneself and survive one was reduced to pawning gold, silver and jewelry for basic necessities. That instability led to the rise of Hitler who became Chancellor in 1933. We think a similar situation could never happen here. Think again! It would involve different people and events but the end result would be the same — loss of liberty.
