Damned Stupid Republicans Blowing It, Again
Riehl World View ^ | 4/10/2011 | Dan Riehl

We all know that in terms of seriously addressing America's debt issues, the recent deal to avert a government shutdown is all but insignificant. So, what is the conventional wisdom being created to define it?

Obama Advisor David Plouffe: Budget Cuts Both 'Draconian' and 'Historic' Plouffe Lauds Bipartisanship

NRO and others on the Right are praising Boehner as a terrific leader, saying he accomplished something great - when, in relative terms, he didn't come close. Meanwhile, the Democrats are busy casting it as historic, if draconian - and accomplished through bi-partisanship.

So, where does that leave a hapless GOP currently led by Boehner if they ever seriously want to take on spending, perhaps through the Paul Ryan budget? Boehner squandered whatever political capital he may have had on a couple of fronts, got next to nothing beyond some favorable headlines, while a narrative is being framed to undercut any future serious effort to address America's tremendous debt.

Clearly the current GOP leadership is not up to the job Americans elected them to do in November. And too much of the Right-side chattering class seeking seats at the lunch counter through access, not serious journalism, to cover them, is more an obstacle to progress, than a serious part of the solution.

I think they should go after Obama rather than praise him.

The sole purpose of the Republican Party is to serve as an ineffective alternative to the Democrat Party.

No serious leadership in Congress. Spineless sissies, every one of them. No credible candidates for President. RINO’s and damaged goods, every one of them.

Four more years of the Kenyan Muslim? Might happen. I am very, very pessimistic these days.

Dude it's the Punch and Judy show!

Judy's supposed to take the Punches!

The GOP is nothing more than the shadow feint of the DNC!

Do they, or do they not share a lot of the same goals/behaviour?

I don't know what to fear more.

“I think they should go after Obama rather than praise him.”

Yeah, one would think.

I think as many Tea Party Republicans as possible should distance themselves from this muddle-headed mess- otherwise they’ll go down too with this sinking ship.

“I think they should go after Obama rather than praise him.”

They’re being “Statesmen.”

Time tush out the Grand Old Potty and get another group of freshmen in there and take control of the Party. The few that are there will take a long time to work into leadership and they get bought off and corrupted too quickly. The freshman gang needs to put pressure on “The Crier” and the rest of the old timers, give us a chance to put in more new blood in ‘12 and keep fighting the Marxists in power. Make no mistake; our biggest problem is thinking that the GOP is with us instead of against us. If a third party is out of the question, we need a coup on the GOP and take them over fast. The primaries should be our focus.

The author of this article doesn’t know about what he speaks.

We have a government that is Leftist-run. Pubbies are the right-wing Leftists and the Dem-bulbs are the left-wing Leftists. They both work together to advance the cause of Leftism.

Think of the Pubbies as the man in the marriage with no spine and the Dems as the Feminist Beyotch from Hell. The Dems push the agenda along and the Pubbies meekly say, “Yes, dear,” but occasionally make noises to try and prove they have a spine to the public but to no avail because actions speak louder than words.

PUB’S ARE ALSO BIG SPENDERS, JUST LIKE THE DEM’S. BOTH ARE
$$$ ALCOHOLICS. THE PUBS ARE ‘ENABLERS’ AND KEEP FEEDING THE DEM’S. PUBS ARE NOT INTERESTED IN SOLVING THE $$$ ALCOHOLISM FOR EITHER PARTY. SAD FOR AMERICA AND MANY AMERICANS’

The Journal Editorial Report on FNC has additional commentary...

The WSJ's Paul Gigot, Dan Henninger, Mary Anastasia O'Grady and Stephen Moore discuss the winners and losers of the "shutdown showdown"-VIDEO

GIGOT: So $39 billion in one year, I never -- well, in my lifetime that has never happened.

HENNINGER: Right. And it's just the beginning. Ultimately, this was a political exercise, Paul. And one of the things that came out of it was that -- what we learned is that John Boehner outsmarted the strategist on the Democratic side.

OK, what the hell are you expecting, superman? We witnessed for the first time in our lifetime what all branches of government (saving the judicial) can do when one party rules, and more than half of the opposing party are wimps. Now that one of the largest election swings in history has occurred, still leaving the Dems in power, your expecting what... the wimps of the opposing party to give up their power and move over for the tea partiers.

Its going to take a lot more work to unseat the wimps and to educate fair minded americans... its an unending war, never to be settled, unless you pull out all the stops and go civil war, and even then, the devil will find a way back. Ok, we got our jollies voting for the first black president, and he was a marxist, maybe some out there have learned... but we never stop fighting, never, never, never!... for the moment you start thinking you’ve won, you’ll get smacked upside the head.

The Ryan budget is like the Emperor’s new clothes as far as I am concerned. It’s the same old carp that’s been tried and we always seem to end up with more government later on rather than less with plenty of temptation to attach mandates to Federal spending. Whatever happened to the 10th amendment - the one thing that will reduce Federal spending?

I suppose that’s a different topic, but it is intertwined in the RINO establishment to protect the power that has been usurped from the states and ensure that it stays in Washington D.C. And that is why they are blowing the golden opportunity to set us on a path to constitutional order by focusing only on the money when our problems run far deeper and encompass more than just Uncle Sam’s bottom line.

"Clearly the current GOP leadership is not up to the job Americans elected them to do in November." Boner. A corrupt criminal pResident will win reelection because of a third party caused by the spinless wonder John Boehner (pronounced /ˈboɪnɚ/ Bo-nər).

“OK, what the hell are you expecting, superman?”

This week we will be witnessing the sad spectacle of Conservatives (less than half a year removed from the Nov. Elections) lining up, like lambs to the slaughter, to vote for the biggest deficit in our nation’s history...

Meanwhile, Obamacare is still being funding, the EPA is busy implementing economy-killing Cap and Trade regulations, etc., etc. Surely, you don’t believe that that was, “The best we could get”?
