MINSK, Belarus — An explosion has ripped through a subway station in the center of the Belarusian capital, severely wounding at least a dozen people and sending clouds of smoke pouring into the street.
An Associated Press reporter at the scene Monday evening saw several inert people being carried out of the station, some with heavy injuries including at least one with missing legs.

The population is close to 100% Belarus/Russian/Ukrainian/Polish.
Immigration and emigration are extremely tightly controlled by the dictatorship.
None of the traditional conditions for urban terrorism obtain there.

If this happened in the US, Incompetano would already be on TV declaring that there is no hint of terrorism and that the system worked.

There are less 5,000 Tatars left in Belarus and only a few hundred Chechens, Syrians, etc.
And the government of Belarus is a police state - unlike the hand-wringing West, any response would be swift and overwhelming.

Belarus has a growing working relationship with Iran, and students from Belarus are welcome in many anti-west Islamic nations. The Muslim angle doesn’t make much sense here.

True. A very few muslims in Minsk and their government have no tensions with any muzzie party in the World.
But still look too muslim.

Here's a less far-fetched concept: the last time there was a bombing in Belarus it was the day after the dictator of Belarus gave a speech saying that American operatives wanted to bomb targets in Belarus. And, magically, it happened less than 24 hours later.
In fact why not. Terrorism and violent crime is so rare there so their law enforcement is quite careless about it. There is no iron curtain too so it is a possible scenario if one muslim terrorist could bring a bomb to blow there.
Not a # 1 theory, sure. Let’s look the result of an investigation. If they’ll point their finger on America or their lib opposition it might be a Reichstag fire.

Try getting into Belarus without a visa.
Then try leaving without permission when you do.
Few borders are more tightly controlled than those of Belarus.
Not letting one w/o visa is not an iron curtain. It is a proper border security:)
It won’t help you if terrorist has a tourist or student visa.
Making a bomb inside a country is not a problem.
It is possible too, but I smell a Reichstag fire moment there.
On the other hand I still can’t see why Lukashenko needs that.
