'Easter eggs' reportedly renamed 'spring spheres' at Seattle public school

The educrats strike again, and make themselves look ridiculous again, according to a 16 year old student identified only as Jessica, who volunteered to do a project at a local elementary school, supplying plastic eggs filled with jellybeans. From MyNorthwest.com: "I went to the teacher to get her approval and she wanted to ask the administration to see if it was okay," Jessica explained. "She said that I could do it as long as I called this treat 'spring spheres.' I couldn't call them Easter eggs.

Long time before that it was about the Babylonian god Tammuz (son of Nimrod and Semiramis) with Tammuz being risen from the dead at sunrise. Egyptians celebrated a sunrise service also with Horus (son of Osiris and Isis) being raised from the dead. Semiramis, Isis, Ishtar, Mary and all it’s derivatives are one in the same. Same with Tammuz, Horus, Jesus and all its derivatives. If you think I’m making it up just do your research into the syncretism of Jewish and pagan beliefs that resulted in Christianity. Same with Islam. Islam was created from the syncretism of pagan Arab beliefs and Jewish ones as well as Christian, Hindu, and Zoroastrian.

I saw the movie Zeitgeist also, if you are going to quote facts at least give credit to the source and not credit them as your own.

For Jack Thorazine, here is a movie you can watch and get the facts for yourself about how the movie twisted various legends and religious beliefs to construct some atheists treatise. I think if you actually read the analogous stories from ancient myths you would find it's pretty totured to adapt them to the truth of Jesus the God Man and the story of his death and resurrection. Lots of ancient religions talk of a widespread flood, does that mean the Babylonians or Sumerians were the source of the story or were they actually buttressing the stories in the bible?

Zeitgeist refuted

I would really study this with an open heart, when you die is too late to realize you were not the smartest guy in the room.

“They are not spherical, they are ovoid.”

Sorry, they were out protesting during that geometry class.

Well, certainly the fine folks of Seattle, Saudi Arabia, are entitled to preserve their muslim heritage and cannot be forced to adopt some Western unbeliever traditions.

That is the particular Seattle of the article topic, no?

I think you’re drinking too much rocket fuel if you think all of these personages are “one and the same”. Jesus was a real, historical figure. Only someone entirely biased against all the evidence (Christian, Jewish, and Roman documents) would say otherwise.

You can argue and disbelieve that he rose from the dead or did any of the miracles given in the New Testament, but Jesus actually existed. Ishtar, Horus, Osiris did not.

Also, without the resurrection of Jesus there would be no Christianity. The resurrection is the foundation of Christianity. And, the resurrection of Jesus from the dead was a once and for all event - not a cyclical recurring event as in other cultures.

I’m not denying that this idea of “resurrection from the dead” by some other diety did not occur in other culture’s beliefs. But, to assume that that makes all beliefs regarding the resurrection one and the same is illogical. Perhaps other cultures had these ideas of rising from the dead and an afterlife because these ideas are imprinted on them by a common Creator?

There is no doubt that Christianity and Judaism are linked - but they are not syncretistic of each other. Rather, they are connected by the same scriptures and the same view of God. Jesus claimed to be the promised Messiah of the Old Testament scriptures - Christianity did not create this “messiah” idea - it was already there. Jews and Christians just disagree that the messiah is Jesus. Other than that - there really isn’t that much difference.

You will find examples of certain individual stories (creation stories, flood stories) in the Old Testament that are similar to stories in other pagan religions - but not with the same view of God nor the same meaning. They are quite different.

I have some great recipes for matzah if you are allowed to get it slightly wet during the week... Also the whole wheat kind is slightly better for the digestion...

Ah, we don’t keep ‘g’bracht’ during the first 7 days of Pesach.

However, on Aharon shel Pesach we do. I would love to have those recipes for then :)

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

It seems to me the only NON-politically correct religious observance left is “RAMADAN” You know the powers to be will not touch that with a 50 ft. pole.

I think it is stupid for the school folk to want to change the name of Easter Eggs. But isn’t it just as stupid for a 16 year old to want to bring Easter Eggs to the school?

I love Easter. I loved it when I was a kid.

But, Easter has no place in public school. The school should have said, “Thanks but no thanks.”

Actually its in Freemont, along with the big Troll under the highway.

Freemont has lots of weird stuff around it.

The Lenin statue is in front of a taco stand if I recall.

No exactly a place of “honor.” It is kind of “kitschy” and not really political.

Reality is stranger than fiction.

You just can’t make this stuff up.

Just when you think you’ve heard every reason in the world to homeschool, the public school system outdoes itself in providing another one.

Scrappleface and The Onion need to be retired. They can’t compete with this.
