NHK is calling it 6.3 now. Epicenter inland, north of Fukushima.

USGS has it as:

MAP 6.2 2011/04/11 23:08:16 35.406 140.542 13.1 NEAR THE EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN

Location has it just East of Tokyo [offshore]

Very shallow. If it would have been over Magnitude 7.0, could have spawned a tsunami.

This quake was much closer to Tokyo than it was to the Fukushima Prefecture...

That one was 6 hours ago. I have the impression that Ronin is talking about one that just happened.

Yep. NHK still calling it 6.0, north of Fukushima, felt about a 3.5 here in West Tokyo.

You are correct. USGS has posted the most recent one:

MAP 6.0 2011/04/12 05:07:42 37.112 140.578 10.6 EASTERN HONSHU, JAPAN

Appears to be just west of Iwaki, Japan, and South of Fukushima and North of Mito [bisecting a line almost between Mito and Fukushima]

You are behind by 6 hours:
That pic is THIS Earhquake...

We have had several today between here (Tokyo/Chiba) and Fukushima... at least 4, that were 5.5+ since 6 hours ago.

I like this one better:

http://www.japanquakemap.com/

Click on the sticky dots.
After you are astounded by the March 11 display, which looks a lot like Allied bombing targets during WW-II, click on today’s action to see current earthquakes. There have been just under 1,000 earthquakes in Japan since March 11.
