“There are many unemployed people out there for every available job today. Why should we hide or camouflage a criminal or his record from a perspective employer.”

That’s fine then. When they go back and commit more crimes because they can’t feed themselves, much less their families, don’t blame it all on them, because it won’t be totally their fault.

I never said they should get a “front of the line pass” either, but if they have no line at all to stand in, what do you expect them to do?

So much for this being a country where a person can get a second chance...

Two words, Individual responsibility.
That is a hard concept for liberals. If they do the crime then they are a criminal. The state locks them up and they do time. It isn't voluntary, they have no choice in the matter. Their freedom is taken away but that is no measure of lessons learned or a change in attitude or differing future actions. Restitution for their crimes is almost never forthcoming.
When these criminals get out of prison they are usually not reformed just released. They have not earned anything because they have not voluntarily done anything to be able to earn anything. They have not earned the respect of law abiding people. They have not earned the right to be considered for employment ahead of any law abiding respectable person. They have earned nothing, they have just been released.
The person that they stole from is still without their property. The person that they were violent to still has to deal with those memories and or injuries. The person that they raped is still a rape victim. So you will probably need to explain to many of us how it is suddenly supposed to be all over for the scum that committed these crimes just because they have been released. It is not over for their victims so why in the hell should it be over for them????
I will not shop or do business with anyone who has ex cons working for them. I am up front about it too and spread the word about the situation.
It is a tough world and when a person makes it tougher by committing a crime it is their own fault and there is going to be a price to pay even after they are released. We can only hope that their next victim is legally armed and knows how to use it so that the cycle can be broken.
