An arsonist-informant who helped convict 10 former associates on eco-terrorism charges in the 2004-07 federal “Operation Backfire” case apparently violated his federal probation by allegedly violating undisclosed state drug laws.
Jacob Jeremiah Ferguson, 38, appeared briefly before U.S. District Magistrate Judge Thomas Coffin on Monday. During that status conference, Ferguson’s attorney asked that his client’s probation violation hearing not be scheduled for “at least three weeks” because of the state charges also before Ferguson.

Ferguson acknowledged taking part in an attempt to burn down a U.S. Forest Service ranger station near Detroit, Ore., and setting fire to a pickup truck near the station in 1996. Court records showed that Ferguson was involved in at least 14 arsons and acts of sabotage — more than any of the 10 co-conspirators he helped the government prosecute in the case. All 10 went to prison after Ferguson, working undercover for federal investigators, wore a recording device to capture 88 hours of conversation with them.

Glendale is my childhood hometown. These creators couldn’t do what the courts and federal government have done. Nearly put Superior out of business. The courts because they locked-up most of the timber and the feds for making sure most of the lumber in this Nation comes from Canada.

Both the state and the feds will step in...then his pals in prison.
