Obama Job Approval at 41%, Tying His Low
Gallup ^ | 4/15/2011 | Gallup

PRINCETON, NJ - The latest Gallup Daily tracking three-day average shows 41% of Americans approving of the job Barack Obama is doing as president. That ties his low as president, which he registered three times previously -- twice in August 2010 and once in October 2010.

July 2009-April 2011 Trend: Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as president? % Approve

The current 41% approval rating from April 12-14 polling includes interviews conducted before and after Obama announced his plan for deficit reduction on Wednesday. It also comes in the same week Congress is voting on the 2011 budget deal reached last Friday. The deal did not seem to have an immediate effect on the way Americans viewed Obama, given his 44% approval rating in the three days prior to the agreement and his 46% rating in the initial days after the agreement.

The economy is likely also a factor in Obama's declining ratings. Though unemployment is improving according to government estimates, the economic recovery remains slow and is being challenged by rising fuel prices. Presidents' approval ratings have historically suffered in times of high gas prices.

Unfortunately, I agree 100%.

There will be pain in the coming years.

I agree. When gas prices went up during Bush’s administration, the MSM said it was because of his evil friends in the oil business who were ripping us off. Now I hear cheery stories on the nightly news about how people are riding bikes and mopeds. One actually asked that viewers go to their website and leave stories about how they are adjusting their lives to offset higher fuel costs. NO MENTION of the Obama administration. During the Bush years, every time they reported something negative, they somehow tied it to the evil Bush administration. Obama & Company are rarely mentioned in the same way when there is news of the negative sort....

Food and fuel prices are all working together to make Obama a one term president.

Was this poll done after he made his deficit/tax speech? If not, then he will get a “bump” from that speech as he will reclaim some of the loonie lefties who have been wavering.

Yeah, I’m surprised that 41% of people are this stupid.

Gas prices have been over $4.00/gallon in the Chicago area for weeks. The bankrupt state of Illinois is reaping the windfall from the taxes paid at the pump....

Gallup’s polling was a random sample.
1540 Adults including spanish speaking folks.
18 years and older.

Explains the high number.

They ought to poll registered voters then they would get a much more accurate finding.

I’m surprised that his approval rating is that high.

Gallup leans left. And even Rasmussen seems to be pulling its punches in recent months, perhaps after having been threatened.

Rasmussen Reports daily poll released 5 hours ago:

“Overall, 48% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president’s performance. Fifty-one percent (51%) disapprove.”

Ok... who is telling the truth?

The poll numbers have to be cooked. How can anyone support him?

Gas is $4.25 at the cheap non major gas station here. Chevron and Shell are a little more.

One friend just had her hours cut from full time to 20 hours a week yesterday.

A couple of people I know including me are looking.

People don’t seem to be at home. Where are they going and what are they doing?

Crazy.

TV loves him. Fox is covering for him as well. I dumped Tv 2 years ago. It is all an Obama lovefest. Maybe the sheep will wake up when they have nothing. Morons are addicted to the idiot box.

For the last two years, the middle class has been hanging on by their fingernails for 2012. They are slowly slipping one by one.

They want the middle class wiped out cause they get total control then.

I know people in debt and one pay check to oblivion. They had a GREAT life under Bush. Dancing with The Stars is a big priority for them. Idiots brainwashed by TV. They have no clue how they got to the abyss and no clue how to avoid it.
