Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL), who admits to owning an iPad, blames the Apple Inc. product for "eliminating thousands of American jobs."

"A few short weeks ago I came to the House floor after having purchased an iPad and said that I happened to believe, Mr. Speaker, that at some point in time this new device, which is now probably responsible for eliminating thousands of American jobs. Now Borders is closing stores because, why do you need to go to Borders anymore? Why do you need to go to Barnes & Noble? Buy an iPad and download your newspaper, download your book, download your magazine," Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL, Chicago) said on the House floor Friday afternoon.

Ironically, it was only last month that Rep. Jackson was promoting the Apple iPad and Amazon on the House floor.

Hey JJJ, you know what’s killing jobs? Clinton, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd’s “mortgage for everyone” program; Obama’s stimulus; Obama’s and the Democrats’ excessive spending; outrageous wasting of tax dollars; the massive and growing deficit; a high unemployment rate that can’t recover as business is responding to the sluggish economy; and on and on and on.

That’s an unfortunate headline...I was thinking Rep. Jackson was somehow implying that something to do with iPad production (stress of development, toxic chemicals) had somehow caused Steve Jobs’ cancer.

My mother still calls one of the vintage taller buildings in downtown W-S the Nissen building. It’s the one that looks vaguely like the Jefferson-Pilot building in Greensboro.

Actually it was the teleprompter which cost this country millions of jobs. Without the teleprompter Obama would never have been elected.

LOL! Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) is a latter-day Luddite! Maybe he should sponsor a bill that outlaws all devices capable of supplanting books and newspapers, naturally exempting members of Congress of course. The new law would outlaw all portable devices as well as all PCs of all types. There, Jesse, that should fix things right up!

Perhaps if all the unemployed from borders would move to China and make iPads then we could solve the whole problem. I am sure they would love everything about china except that 1 child per couple thing and that going to work thing.
Problem solved!

Well the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree, does it? Jr. is as dumb as his old man, and that’s quite an achievement.

And Jr.’s not much smarter than Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (Dunce, TX) who said this week on Fox News that without more spending our children would be “running around with no shoes, no clothes, eating off the ground and drinking water that’s not safe.”

It’s frightening that either of these morons is eligible to vote, let alone cast a vote in Congress.

Pray for our Republic (what’s left of it).

Apple products must be pretty good if they can enable an imbecile like Jesse Jackson Jr. to be tech savvy or at least talk like he is. Prolly the latter

140-ish. Heavy on the “ish”.

I know where my scores are on the bell curve of standardized tests (<1%, right tail). I know my wife’s and daughter’s actual scores (140) and how I compare (roughly equal). I know by my relative ability to earn, save, invest, etc (top 1%). I have had my vocabulary count validated (30K+ words).

I haven’t had a straight up IQ test ever, to my knowledge. So, I’m guessing a bit.

FR attracts a pretty pointy headed crowd, for conservatives. I’d guess the IQ of the average FReeper is way above average. In no way do I think I’m special in this crowd.
