This sentence is an outright lie. The fact is the MSM...(and this means ESPECIALLY the more leftist of the MSM), gives regular play to the birther nonsense. It is a simple fact, and one easily proved by a search of the last 6 months news, that the birther silliness is brought up 10 times by the left for every one it is broached by anyone else in the MSM.
The left created this issue (Hilary Clintons people); and the left uses it to make the right look stupid. They know we can never ever win on this issue.
Pursuit of this issue is a pointless waste of time and energy. Just consider for a moment what it would take to PROVE he was not born here. Because he does not have to prove he was...no no no,the accusers have to prove he was not. What possible evidence could you imagine would ever be so sound, so incontrovertible, that it could not be ripped apart in court. Even if you won it would take a decade with all the appeals.
I challenge every person who is wound up about this to sit down with a good lawyer or law prof. Ask them what it would take to win this. *IF* you do this you'll soon realize that your time would be spent just as well by bashing your forehead into a brick wall.
There are two groups that bring up this silliness over and over; The leftists who dangle it as proof that the right are loons, And the those on the right who are so very obsessed with it they won't take the time to examine the utter futility of it. Not only has their usefulness in dragging us away from the socialist abyss been neutralized, but they are actually helping the enemies of our nation.
We need every sound thinker to stay focused on stopping the marxist agenda being foisted on us. The ship of state is sinking. Every man needs to bail and repair. EVERYONE needs to grasp the fact that there are far more important things to do now than examine the Captains papers. If you want to do that when we drop his ass off on shore fine! But right now it's as worthwhile an activity as straightening the deck chairs as the Titanic sinks.
There are dozens and dozens of things the people all around us don't know. Glenn Beck made huge inroads by breaking things down for the busy common man and he changed the minds of many. But many more won't go near his stuff because of the leftist stigma. So it's up to us. Get on DIGG, and REDDIT, and PuffyHo and every other MSM site and break down the lies for the mentally challenged leftists who dwell there.. Show the absurdity and destructiveness off BO's policies.

Your are correct: In the context you describe (i.e., in something like a "court of law"), it would indeed be impossible to "win," since Obama could simply remain silent, while we would have to supply evidence proving that he was NOT a native-born citizen.
It is not possible to proof a negative.
In the realm of public opinion, however, it would be all means possible to "win" our case - by applying so much public pressure and by subjecting Obama to so much public ridicule and embarrassment that he would not only have to explicitly deny the allegation, but also to explain WHY he cannot/will not produce the requisite Long-Form Certificate of Live Birth, WHETHER he ever held a different nationality (e.g., British, through his father; Indonesian, through his step-father) or used a foreign passport, etc.

The requirement of natural-born citizenship of a U.S. President was a crucial point from the founding of this nation and still is. It is because of the unique founding principles of the United States which were unprecedented in history.
Foreigners don't stow away in cargo containers or float to our shores on rubber inner tubes because America is nothing special.
Foreigners don't clamor for green card alien status in the U.S. because we are just another option for a place to live.

Twentieth amendment, section three CLEARLY states the opposite:

The term "the President elect shall have failed" refers to an action by the President elect. In this case, it is "qualified" as in proving to Congress that you meet the eligibility requirements set forth in Article two to serve as President. If you "fail" to qualify, Congress is responsible for naming a replacement if the vice president-elect "fails" to qualify. This means that Congress must be aware of whether or not a President elect "qualifies" or not. If they do not know, then this "qualification" did not occur. If it did not occur, the President elect has "failed to qualify" and we currently do not have a legal President, but a usurpation.

Forget the birth certificate. The Certificate of Live Birth that has been posted online is adequate. We’ve already got enough information to impeach.
Obummer had ONE American parent, not two. The formal definition of “natural born citizen” has never been officially recognized, but everybody seems to know that it means (a) born on American soil and (b) to parents who are BOTH citizens of the United States.
Case close. The bum is not natural born and must be impeached. NOW!

Proof of eligibility FROM Obama was due in 2008. It was waived. So now proof is demanded from those who maintain he isn't.
E.G. Obama had to present proof of eligibility before he was admitted to the Bar of the State of Illinois. Once admitted, the Bar later had to present proof that he had lied in that presentation. The State Bar has a process for handling those who are wrongly admitted, and an entire of range of disciplinary measures and sanctions. The Federal Government apparently does not.

The Constitution says flat out POTUSA must be a natural born citizen. I don’t see that in an honest unbiased( many judges do not meet this standard) that the burden of establishing such is any less on the nominee than on the general public.Indeed common sense says the person seeking the office is more obligated than any voter to make the proof to establish eligibility for public acceptance. Though it is argued that the Constitution does not explicitly define a natural born citizen that argument does not deal with the the stack of documentation that was available and used when the Founding Fathers embedded the the explicit requirement into the Constitution. Obama is not the first person who used trickery to circumvent the fidelity of the Constitution. This just shows how difficult it is to make an ‘ironclad’ contract/regulation/law immune from shysters and usurpers.
