... where we are these days with Donald Trump -- in a matter of weeks, he's propelled himself into the "I wish a motherf***** would" phase of his as-yet-undeclared presidential campaign. He's talked enough smack about President Barack Obama that it's time, as Bill Cosby demanded last week on Today, for Trump to run or just "shut up." It's time that Trump talked about Obama to his face.
After a monthlong "Birther" tour that stopped at Good Morning America, O'Reilly and The View to deposit the recycled claim that under Obama, "this country is going to hell," and Trump's thoroughly debunked "doubts" about Obama's citizenship -- including his theory that the first black president's white grandparents fudged his birth records to get him on welfare -- this week Trump went on Fred Dicker's radio show and presented the caveat that he's got "a great relationship with the blacks."
Not anymore. Let's shoot it straight: Plenty of black folks appreciate a blunt-talking guy dipped in expensive suits, as much as -- if not more -- than the next person. If Trump had coupled his reality-TV and Twitter-friendly style with the tolerant social views and "You can have all this, too" team-of-me ethos that he once touted, he could have been the one candidate in the 2012 Republican field to peel away a few black votes from Obama.
While African Americans still support Obama at an 85 percent clip, contrary to popular belief, black America can roll with a lot of the criticism about the president's leadership. But once Trump started arguing that Obama wasn't American, whatever goodwill he had in blackworld up and vanished.
If Trump is even wondering, here's why his passport to black America is probably canceled:

I totally agree with you..I did do my research on Obama as I did and do on other candidates and I do wish others would do the same.. The only reason I voted for McCain was because of Sarah Palin..There was no other choice out there at the time other than Obama or McCain.That is the reason McCain did get as many votes as he did I think it was because of Sarah..

To be blunt, the only way for republicans to get even a portion of the black vote is to run a black candidate.

A black Republican is by definition an "Uncle Tom". In a race between LtCol. Allan West and a liberal white Democrat, the black vote would 90% go to the white Democrat.
I don’t think any white guy or gal is getting the black vote anytime soon. I doubt that Trump is losing any sleep over it.
His Harvard bio page reads like something from the Wizard of Oz. All the honorary degrees, honors, non-accomplishments...his language paints him for who he really is: a ghetto hustler.
I just listened to the tape..It is what everyone need s to listen to..I plan to send it to my email list and tell them not to vote for this two faced old man..We do not need another Soro’s in the white house..

Yes, I agree that the black vote is lost....however....
I would like to see a long term conservative outreach by way of advertising, community town halls, lectures, going into the churches, sending black youth to conservative colleges, conservative private K-12 schools, free summer camps for kids, etc., in an effort to turn this group of people around.
Forget Trump...he will not run...he would have to disclose his finances..

By my calculations back in 2000, the tipping point was 88%. Below that point the black advantage disappears. If true, the advantage is lost and energy and money must be expended to regain it. that energy and money must be diverted from the main assault.
I have always liked Palin, but my vote for McCain was more of a vote against Zero. That’s the way I have voted for many years. The Lesser of the two Evils. I hope my vote in 2012 is actually, honestly FOR our candidate.
Why should he care? Blacks are not going to vote for ‘Pubbies, esp. a White ‘Pubbie, in any significant numbers while Obama is running.
