"I've always felt that the origin of Superman is the story of Moses -- the child sent on a ship to fulfill a destiny," said Singer, a producer on the upcoming X-Men: First Class. "And this was a story about Christ -- it's all about sacrifice: The world, I hear their cries. So what happens? He gets the knife in the side and later he falls to the earth in the shape of a crucifix. It was kind of nailing you on the head, but I enjoyed that, because I've always found the myth of Christ compelling and moving. So I hoped to do my own take, which is heavy s--- for a summer movie."

It’s open season on Christianity
Well, with this fool directing it will take a miracle for this film to be any good.
The Christ is a myth to billions. Our Lord and Savior is a myth to millions that claim to follow him. Jesus the Christ is a myth to anyone that does not have a personal relationship with Him.
I know that this person may have tried to impugn our Savior’s very existence. The world mocked Him then and it mocks Him still.
As for me and my house, we serve the risen Lord.
He’s doing this new Superman too? I thought Chris Nolan had this new one. Little fruity Singer ruined the last Superman as he preferred his version of Superman to become a super dead beat dad. They should not let him anywhere near Superman ever again.
He’s not directing the new one. I mentioned his directing the most recent one in the title so people would know who he was.
I’m glad I live in these current times. So many discoveries in the last 40 years have substantiated over and over again that the Bible is indeed an accurate historical document. As a result of this repeated verification, I find it more and more impossible to believe that Jesus was “just” a myth.
What myth is this jackass talking about?
After the mess he made of the last Superman movie I’m content with ignoring his existence.
Isn’t Singer a Jewish name? Lots of Jews believe Christ is a myth. I mean, if they didn’t, they’d be Christians, wouldn’t they?
Granted, it’s rude to say.
Brains are not required to make movies.
“Granted, it’s rude to say.”
Isn’t it rude to say that the Christ was a myth?
Freedom of speech works both ways.
IMHO
I love Superman Returns (I didn’t when it first came out-but then I caught the obvious Christ-like references) and now..I love that move (ever since I saw it on the tube several years ago)!
(I don’t care who made it, the Christian references are undeniable-and ~may~ lead some to him)!
J.S.
“Sodomite jackass.”
Yeah, but he’s a brilliant, really really smart, bright, intelligent, intellectual genius whose brilliance is not understood by all those stupid, uneducated, knuckle-dragging Christians out there. (Those Christians MUST be absolutely stupid to believe that a myth existed and still does.)
/Sarcasm/
I didn't think Directors had deposits on them. How much did Superman get?
Some day he may realize that this “myth” is real (the way Tolkein pulled in CS Lewis). At least that admiration of the Incarnation and of Christ’s sacrifice is in him. There’s hope he can finish the journey.
Of course it works both ways. He can say anything he wants, God bless his heart.
But to come out on Easter Week and say, oh, the myth of Christ, it’s just so fascinating. It’s a little bit of a smack. And a touch elitist.
It’s like coming out on Independence Day and saying, oh the mythology of the founding fathers, what an interesting story! We know they were all deist drunks! It’s a tweak.

I will not be seeing this movie.
If this is Bryan Singer, he’ll never be as good as he was with The Usual Suspects, which is a bonified classic.
Funny how most modern archaeology supports such a myth.
That’s why they call it faith. You believe or you don’t. You get to choose and he has.
“Of course it works both ways.”
Soitenly it works both ways, but it works better and can be done with impunity when it’s speaking about the “Myth
of Christ”.
It may be called a harmless “tweak” from an elitist atheist, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s not a tweak, but an attempt at getting in the face of others under the guise of harmlessness. In reality, it’s an intentional deposit of spittle in the faces of Christians, with impunity.
It also does not change the fact that the “tweaker” may be in the process of attempting to remove one of the barriers to his socialist revolution; in other words, a willful, revolutionary swine.
IMHO
As they hated me, so shall they hate you. But if you were of this world they would love you.
Zack Snyder, Watchmen, 300, is directing the new Superman thankfully he leans a little more to the right.
Chris Nolan, The Dark Knight, Inception, will produce it.
Singer to me has always sucked hated his take on X Men and Supes. The new X Men movie looked like crap and this gives me more of a reason to not see it.
