Skip to comments.Obama: ‘Resurrection of Our Savior, Jesus Christ, Puts Everything Else in Perspective’

President Barack Obama told an Easter Prayer Breakfast held at the White House on Tuesday morning that the resurrection of Our Savior Jesus Christ puts everything in perspective.
I wanted to host this breakfast for a simple reason--because as busy as we are, as many tasks as pile up, during this season, we are reminded that theres something about the resurrection--something about the resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ, that puts everything else in perspective, Obama told a group of Christian clergymen and government officials in a brief speech in the East Room.
And thats why we have this breakfast, Obama said. Because in the middle of critical national debates, in the middle of our busy lives, we must always make sure that we are keeping things in perspective. Children help do that. A strong spouse helps do that. But nothing beats scripture and the reminder of the eternal.

Did he read from a script? Or is it spontaneous?
Somehow I couldn’t imagine Obama saying those words as if in a normal conversation.
He’s just reading what somebody wrote for him.
Gee, do you suppose he was using TOTUS?
At first glance I can’t see anything here to criticize. Pretty basic Christian message.
Takiya at it’s absolute worst. . .and brazen. In his private universe, Obama must laugh himself stupid. . .
Hot mic again?
And on Palm Sunday he was golfing.
The devil can quote scripture.
But nothing beats scripture and the reminder of the eternal.
Funny, it was just 2006 when he denounced the Bible in a public speech slamming both the Mosaic Code along with the Sermon on the Mount. Now...nothing beats Scripture.
No one should stand anywhere near him, in case of a lightning strike.
Ummm. No way this man believes what he says. NO WAY. I do not believe him.
Just imagining what the press would print, what the talking heads would rave about, if Bush said this at the start of a campaign season. Why doesn’t the press despise Obama’s faith and worry that he’s in Lybia because ‘God told him to be there’?
A cynical, miserable man.
President Barack Obama told an Easter Prayer Breakfast held at the White House . . .
It always amazes me how Prayer is allowed in the White House (which is totally federal funded) while prayer is prohibited in public schools because they accept federal funds. It is all such bull crap — it is pathetic!!
And thats why we have this breakfast,
Barry tell us again why you have that (Ramadan) dinner ???
Everything about obamma is scripted!
Yup, too busy to attend Palm Sunday services too. This guy is a complete FRAUD.
...and then, lightning struck him.
Not surprising another muzzie in the white hut could, too.
I’m surprised his tongue didn’t catch fire.
And how many times have you heard him speak like that in the last three years? How many times has he been to church in the last three years?
Yes, it is pretty basic for someone who has Jesus in their lives, 24/7, but quite for someone who would rather golf than take his family to church.
One thing you’ll never hear from a liberal “Christian” is any scripture about the exclusivity of salvation through Jesus Christ.
And if you don’t believe and confess that exclusivity,
you’re denying what He did was necessary for salvation.
That;s good enough for me...I’m sold. He’s a Christian. He sounds so Christian, how could anyone NOT believe him?
See the post above yours.
No lib that I know can really be a “Christian”.
Obama's life and actions show that he does not mean it.
Take a second glance:
"...during this season, we are reminded that theres something about the resurrection--something about the resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ, that puts everything else in perspective, Obama told a group of Christian clergymen and government officials..."
Do you know "what season" it is? Do you know who "we" are? Do you know what "we" are being "reminded" of? Do you know what "something" there is "about" the ressurection?
You do? Good. Now here's the final question:
Do you think Obama has the same answers as you?
He wants you to presume he does.
But he did not say so.
Muslims have no problem speaking about Christ, they don’t believe he is the son of God, or a Savior, they believe he was a prophet whose lessons were fragmented and Mohammad had to come to finish the message.
That makes them think they are knowledgeable and Christians have no clue, infidels, etc...And when we tell them they are wrong and there is only one savior and no other path to Heaven it becomes blasphemy..
But every lib DOES have the core value that Christianity is not THE ONLY WAY to salvation.
He’d lose more of his base than he’d gain of discerning Christians by stating the confession of exclusivity.
Your description is very like the philosophy of liberalism.
The main reason anyone proclaims liberalism is to feel superior to others.
Just believing in what Christ said...
I am not bothered by folks who decide to believe in other paths, their choice, I look at it as they are not called to life in heaven and have the right to do so, I just wish that they could understand that Christ told us the truth, to Jews, to Islamist to anyone who would seek Him, there is no other path to God.
All other paths were severed by God with Christ on the cross.
If there is any feeling of superiority in that it is simply God proclaiming His superiority to our decisions, follow Him, you will come to Jesus feet...and be free.
Not like liberals, no need to lie to achieve the goal...no manipulation of superiority, just the truth...
I like the statement, also, that says
“all paths lead to God, but all others but Jesus lead you to Him as Judge and not as Savior”
uh-huh. He also talks about lowering spending and being responsible and protecting America.
You don’t see any of that do ya?
Really well stated. Thank you.
That’s really good. I never heard that 1 before who said it?
If he truly believed that, he’d be sitting in a church every Sunday morning.
“There SOMETHING about it”.
Kind of like Nancy Pelosi’s (paraphrased) line “When I find myself needing a guide, there’s The Word. And the Word is Good.” (or something like that).
It’s just Democrat BS to go after the Christian voters. They spelled out their playbook after 2004. They called it the “God Gap” and said that they would go after those voters.
When they outted the 2 gay Republicans in 2006, it was to turn off Christian voters to those Republicans and the party in general (which is why they erroneously claimed that the scandal went to the top of the GOP who knew and did nothing while a subsequent Congressional investigation showed that the media AND the DNC knew more, earlier, and CHOSE to sit on it as an October Surprise).
Where is Obama’s baptism certificate? He’s no Christian. Still hasn’t found a church in DC.
