Why weren’t there protestors?

Because liberal democrats are cowards.

One must wonder what kind of “love” is preached at the Westboro Baptist Church worship services...

One of these days they’re going to show up at a funeral...and it’s going to be theirs.

Beautiful. These SOBs really stepped in it when they won at the Supreme Court. It pretty much opened them up to to being on the receiving end of some well-deserved vigilante justice.

Glad all went well there!

My daughter's softball coach's son was killed in Afghanistan this weekend. Still trying to get details.

Thank you for sharing that.

I just added Brandon, Mississippi to the “places I might like to live” list.

God bless Sgt. Rogers and the good people and patriots of that town that came out to honor him.

"This is a truly great story. "

Indeed it is. The "good old boys" solution to meddling outsiders. Well done, Mississippi!

What amazes me is that, to date, no enterprising Marine sniper has not set up and taken out a couple of these clowns. It shows remarkable restraint and respect for a mis-used right to free speech.

You left out the good stuff:
“A couple of days before, one of them Westboro protestors ran his mouth at a Brandon gas station and got his arse waxed. Police were called and the beaten man could not give much of a description of who beat him. When they canvassed the station and spoke to the large crowd that had gathered around, no one seemed to remember anything about what had happened.

Rankin County handled this thing perfectly. There were many things that were put into place that most will never know about and at great expense to the county.

Most of the morons never made it out of their hotel parking lot. It seems that certain Rankin county pickup trucks were parked directly behind any car that had Kansas plates in the hotel parking lot and the drivers mysteriously disappeared until after the funeral was over. Police were called but their wrecker service was running behind and it was going to be a few hours before they could tow the trucks so the Kansas plated cars could get out.

A few made it to the funeral but were ushered away to be questioned about a crime they might have possibly been involved in. Turns out, after a few hours of questioning, that they were not involved and they were allowed to go on about their business.

Fred Phelps, the disbarred lawyer and Democrat activist who leads the Westboro congregation, will undoubtedly pursue some form of legal action for the way his people were thwarted in Brandon. Let him try. There isn’t a jury in Mississippi which will see things his way.

This is a template for how to handle the Westboro people. If lawsuits don’t work, other means will. Whatever it takes to keep them from harassing bereaved military families on the day their fallen loved ones are laid to rest.”

That is truly a shame!! (sarcasm).

Those good ole boys know how to deal with anti-American scum.

They could use some Mississippi help in Kansas to take out the nest of vipers permanently.

This story is not to be missed by Mississippians who didn't or couldn't see it on the local news!

We get a lot right, here in Mississippi.

That “church” planned to protest a funeral in Jacksonville two or three years ago. At the last minute they wisely decided not to show up.

Mississippi Marine’s funeral (From a Face Book contact)
by Geneva Jennings on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 7:43am

Most of you know about the Mississippi Marine that was killed in Afghanistan whose funeral was held at Pinelake Baptist Church and buried in Brandon. Here is a note from the Bagpiper

Praise the LORD who worked through Mississippi Rednecks, the protesters did not get near the family.

JB was the bagpiper at the funeral. He’s a member of the Father of Waters, Mississippi’s bagpipe band.

A quick update on the funeral I piped today for SSGT Jason Rogers, the Marine who was KIA in Afghanistan last week. There were several thousand people who showed up to pay their respects to this fallen hero. The Marines even sent a detachment all the way from Camp LeJeune, NC to serve as a special honor guard. The Marine Corps Chaplain was there to deliver the eulogy and conduct the graveside services. There were well over 100 military personnel there to handle every detail. It lent a new meaning to Full Military Honors.

There were also several hundred Patriot Guard Riders there to act as a buffer between the mourners and the scumbags from Westboro “Baptist” Church.

The nutcases from Westboro were prevented from entering the grounds of Pinelake Baptist Church, where the funeral service was held, as the church is considered private property. So we were braced for them at the cemetery.

However, a funny thing happened to them on their way to the cemetery. I was told that they had gathered at a vacant lot next to the Taco Bell in downtown Brandon to get organized, pass out their filthy signs, etc. However, someone notified the owner of the vacant lot, who promptly called the police and pressed charges against them for trespassing. The police came and placed all of them under arrest, and hauled them down to the station.

However, since almost all of the Brandon Police Department was tied up with traffic control and escort duties for the funeral, there was no one available to interview the detainees, so they were forced to wait until an officer came back to the station— AFTER the graveside services. I noticed that there were several Brandon police cruisers hanging around the cemetery until everyone had safely left the site. It took over an hour to empty the cemetery of all the cars. The news media estimated the crowd at the cemetery at over 3000.

Those idiots should have had more sense than to mess with Mississippi rednecks.

They tried it in Charles County, MD. People lined the roads for miles - they couldn’t get anywhere near the funeral.

They will slowly fade in to the background as time goes on, here’s why.

The plan IMHO was to actually loose the court case. That way the left, and they are leftists, could then turn around and stop any and all speech that they disagreed with based on that case.

But alas it didn’t happen, and thanks be to God too that they did loose. And they should have lost for the very reason they did.

However, had they not lost we would be up shite’s creek without a paddle.
