There were a few grim statistics in Bank of America's annual survey of rich people.
Over half of respondents doubted their children would be as wealthy as they are. By comparison, 96% of Boomers were wealthier than their parents.
And more bad news for babys of Baby Boomers. Only 49% of rich people said that leaving a plump inheritance is a "personally important use of their wealth."
Financial security (90%), financial freedom (78%), travel (64%) and quality of relationships with family and friends (53%) rated as more important uses of wealth.
Perhaps the Boomers feel this way because most of them got rich through hard work, not inheritance.

This isn’t the greaatest generation, it’s their kids.
I’m on the cusp of the baby boomers, born in 1944, and I hope to leave something to my kids. At the very least, I don’t want to leave them saddled with the massive debt this president is running up and I don’t want them to have to take care of me.
Of course not - the most selfish, narcissistic, destructive generation that ever lived. A horde of locusts...(flame away)
“Of course not - the most selfish, narcissistic, destructive generation that ever lived. A horde of locusts...(flame away)”
No need to flame, you put it so eloquently. They sold us down the river, and the vast majority are traitors. We’ll be cleaning up their mess for decades. Unfortunately, the libs capitalize on this fact (that they ruined us), to try and forge their new world order. Sad, sad, sad. Ground lost, rather than maintained, is never easily regained.
I think a great number would be happy with that if they would check out of the hotel in the next few years. Unfortunately the worst ones will all live to be 100.
This shouldn’t surprise anybody. The baby boomers forced society to subsidize their education and other benefits. They then choose to not make the appropriate actions to make sure the debt doesn’t balloon out of control.
They also objectively added very little to the world, considering how much they took and how many of them there were.
Why should it be surprising that they are also leaving the world a big bag of nothing in the end?
Yeah, generations X, Y & Z are shaping up to be such an improvement.
I am from the Boomer year 1946. My wife and I will soon draw a total of $42,000 a year from S/S. Because we will take it at age 66 there will be no penalty! And we are still working. Sweet! We intend to use it for our gambling trips so we don't have to use our own money.
Well one thing is for sure, Baby Boomers have paid a lot into the system, and will forever be trashed by other generations. Too bad we can’t take our money back.
The Greatest Generation were the Worst Parents Ever.
It says this was from a survey of “rich people”. I might have missed it, but how did they define “rich”?
Fixing blame aint always that simple, folks.
We didn’t create all the pyramid scheme entitlements that are bankrupting this nation, the greatest generation did and made us pay for it.
Please elaborate. I was 11 years old when LBJ enacted the Great Society policies that are bankrupting this nation.
As a young Army officer living in a small town in Germany in 1980, I allayed the fears of my neighbors who were convinced that Reagan would start WWIII.
Traitors like Jane Fonda are members of the "Greatest Generation".
In conclusion, your knowledge of American history is no better than POTUS's.
What’s the point of wasting a good flame on someone who has made up their mind and made a mindless post?
People who make references to baby boomers as if they are a monolithic single entity are no different than our President who plays class warfare. There is no point in answering them, they are angry and they have to lash out at someone.
A bunch of whinies who still live at home. Gimme, gimme generations. Entitlements R Us. And who voted a commie into office all on his promises to give them purple unicorns.
Jane Fonda was born in 1937, so she would not be part of what is called the "Greatest Generation." She was about 8 when World War II ended.
Don’t worry. It’s unlikely that you have any worry about your children having to take care of you.
They won’t have the means to do that.
